  • Welcome to our practice!  We are so excited to be a part of your four-legged family.  We hope you appreciate our ability to bring veterinary medicine to the comfort of your home.  Many people are new to using a house call veterinarian, so we want share with you what you can expect from our practice.

Since we come to you, we are by appointment only.

We will do our best to return phone, email and text inquiries within 72 hours, however this may not always be possible.  If you have a matter that is emergent or needs prompt attention, please contact one of the providers listed below.  While we can offer many services at your home, because of the nature of our practice, we do not offer emergency care, hospitalization, anesthesia/sedation, x-rays, surgeries or dentistry.   We currently do not offer in home euthanasia.  We have good relationships with local “brick and mortar” practices as well as specialty practices and can direct you to the appropriate care facility if needed.   Further all exam, laboratory and treatments performed can be shared easily with these practices when needed.

Prior to your visit, we will send you a treatment plan with expected prices for you to approve.  If you have any questions about it please ask.  If there is something you would like performed that we do not have listed, please let us know so we can be prepared to provide this service to you.

Please have your feline family member ready for our arrival by either having your feline friend in a small bathroom or in a carrier/crate.

If your pet is unable to be cared for during our visit (ie too sick or needs referral, fractious, aggressive, unable to be located in a timely manner...) we will reschedule or recommend referral to a local animal hospital.  In these instances, you will still be responsible for the house call fee and exam/professional service fee.

  • Prescription Policy

At On Point Mobile Veterinary Services it is our policy to take every possible step to ensure that our patients receive the correct and very best pharmaceutical products available.  When purchasing through us, in contrast to an unrelated third-party pharmacy (ie Chewy, 1-800-Petmeds), we can guarantee you are receiving the medication we have intended for your pet to receive.

We also understand and empathize with the desire to investigate other options.  If you wish, we will gladly write prescriptions for your pet in lieu of purchasing medications from us.  There is a $7.00 fee per prescription (ie per medication and per pet) for this service.

To avoid any potential doctor-patient confidentiality issues, after providing you with the written prescription, we are unable to communicate with the third-party pharmacies via phone, email or fax.  This means, to ensure your written prescription is able to be processed, the following process must be followed.

    1.      We must “snail” mail you the requested written prescription(s).  These will be have an original hand signature from our veterinarian.

    2.      You must then “snail” mail the original hand signed prescription to the pharmacy.  We recommend contacting your preferred pharmacy to get their preferred mailing address for written prescriptions.

    3.      The prescription will not be accepted by the third-party pharmacy if it the original hand-signed copy is not sent.  It will not be accepted if it is faxed, emailed, or copied – it must be "snail" mailed.

Please remember, we are also obligated to adhere to the following guidelines when writing prescriptions for you:

All state and federal prescribing laws apply, the same as if you purchase directly from us.  This means we must have a valid veterinary client patient relationship with you ie have a recent examination with your pet, and know enough about your pet’s current condition to feel comfortable prescribing requested medications.

To avoid any potential doctor-patient confidentiality issues, we will not communicate with the online or catalog entity in any form or fashion.
