Perfect Knowledge of the Ground - Order the Reader
About Perfect Knowledge of the Ground:
Perfect Knowledge of the Ground began as a knowledge propagation project, organized by ceramist and writer RL Martens, aiming to reframe the roots of our current ecological crisis and share Black and Indigenous alternatives to the capitalist and colonialist episteme. The project originally appeared at the Washington Project for the Arts in the spring of 2020 as a virtual bookshelf, free mail-order care package, and film screening. Later the project morphed into a virtual panel discussion at the NYC Urban Soils Institute's annual symposium and a second pressing of the reader. The project currently circulates as a resource for grounding questions of artistic responsibility and extraction as part of Dig Deeper: [some] Art, Science and History of Troy Clay.
What you get: a Perfect Knowledge of the Ground spiral-bound reader (140 pages, 8.5"x 5.5") containing excerpts from the virtual bookshelf.
