Shupe’s Sweet Southern Goldens - Puppy Application Form

Thank you for your interest in adopting a puppy from Shupe's Sweet Southern Goldens! The following application makes it possible for us to get to know our potential families in depth and to ensure that each of our puppies are placed with the perfect family to fit their lifestyle. This sets both our families and our puppies up for a successful and happy future! 🖤

Please read all of the following carefully and complete each section of the form.

All of our adult dogs are AKC Registered and have been genetically tested through Embark. Our current male standing at stud, Roman, is OFA CHIC certified hips, elbows, heart and eyes. All of our upcoming females will be OFA and/or PennHIP certified for hips, elbows, heart and eyes as well. Currently, we offer limited AKC registration only for our puppies. Full AKC (Breeding Rights) may be discussed and offered to select breeding programs at our discretion.

All of our puppies are raised inside our home and receive daily interaction from ourselves, our children and our other pets.

Beginning soon after birth - Day 3-16 - each puppy participates in Early Neurological Stimulation (ENS) exercises. These exercises introduce mild stressors to the puppies at a young age and in a controlled environment. This has been proven to aid in stimulating the neurological system, which in turn improves growth and development of the pup's immune system, cardiovascular system and stress tolerance. Throughout the remaining weeks that your puppy is in our care, he/she will experience many different sounds, sights, smells, textures and of course, loads of love and cuddles to prepare for life outside of our home.

Our puppies are dewormed at 2,4,6, and 8 weeks of age. They will receive their first round of vaccinations and be seen by our veterinarian at 6 weeks of age. Every puppy from our program will go home with a care package to assist with the transition into his/her new environment. This will include Veterinary paperwork, a blanket or Snuggle Puppy with Momma and littermate's scent and several other samples and goodies! ☺️ When it is time for your puppy to come home with you, he/she will have also been introduced to litter/potty training and early crate training concepts. These are both very important concepts that will be the foundation for your puppy's training journey. We offer lifetime breeder support to every Shupe's Sweet Southern Goldens family and consider them all part of our own. Staying in contact with our puppy families means the world to us!

We do our very best to post bi-weekly individual pictures and also other frequent video and photo updates on social media and through a private thread for each litter so that our families are able to feel present in the entire process as they watch their new baby grow and change over the 8 short weeks before bringing him/her home.

Puppy selections are made around 6 weeks of age and in the order of our waitlist/deposits. After the puppies receive their first vaccinations, we will schedule a "pick day" for those who choose to visit us and select their puppy in person. We ask that these families only have immediate members present and take all proper precautions to ensure the safety of the puppies. Keep in mind that at this age, puppies are very vulnerable and susceptible to illness. For families that are long distance or who choose not to visit for puppy selections, we offer a puppy "pick day" via FaceTime or through pictures and videos. Circumstances can vary as far as "pick day" goes. We are ultimately going to make decisions with the health and wellness of the puppies being our constant focus.

Finally, we welcome our families to pick up their new baby at 8 weeks of age! We will schedule "Gotcha Day" accordingly. We do offer delivery to our families who need or prefer this option for an additional fee.

As of June 1, 2025, our Adoption Fee is $2,500, $2,700 if purchased through Good Dog due to a fee charged by the company. A non-refundable deposit of $350 is required to reserve a puppy on our waitlist. This includes a $100 fee to be added to our official waitlist and then the remaining $250 due within 48 hours of puppies arriving. Your puppy's AKC registration fee is also included in the total price. We handle this for our families, and have the official documents mailed to the home address on file. *Deposits are not accepted until applications have been reviewed and approved. We accept 8 early deposits per waitlist - 4 male, 4 female. In the event that we have a small litter or that there are not 4 puppies of each gender, we will give our early deposit families the choice of the opposite gender or to transfer their deposit to the next waitlist of their choice. In some scenarios, litters are larger than 8. Therefore, we will accept up to 12 total families on each list. The latter 4 will not be required to place a deposit and will be notified of openings after delivery. In the case that we have an unusually large litter of more than 12, we will announce availability via social media and accept the number of deposit slots remaining on a first come first serve basis. We do ask that families please inform us if circumstances have changed or they have adopted a puppy in the meantime of being on either of our waitlists. This helps with time efficiency and opens opportunities for families that are actively searching for a fur baby. We strive to keep things as fair as possible for our waitlist families, and this process works smoothly for everyone involved.

Once an application is received, we will contact families with more information about our expected litters and waitlists. When an application is approved, we will accept a deposit if there is open availability on one of our waitlists. Please feel free to contact us for further information or questions.
