The Adelaide Health Foundation is committed to ensuring that financial barriers do not prevent applicants applying to study nursing. Students may apply for a means tested bursary each year in 1st, 2nd and 3rd Year.
Bursaries of varying amounts are awarded based upon the means tested income of the applicant. The awarding of a bursary is solely within the discretion of the Foundation and will be given to the most deserving applicants each year. Personal details will be kept strictly confidential. Bursaries are provided from the voluntary funds of the Adelaide Health Foundation.

Basis for assessment (“Who” is Means Tested/Assessed)
Leaving Cert entry -
ome of the applicant’s parents/guardians will be assessed.
- who are residing with and are dependent on their parents/guardians,
he applicant’s parents/guardians will be assessed.
the applicant’s own income and their spouse’s, civil partner or co-habitant's
between the ages of 17 and 23 years on or before 1 January on year of entry - the income of the applicant’s parents/guardians will be assessed.
The assessment will be made for the income year prior to the year of entry (i.e. 2019)
The income limits which determine eligibility for a bursary will operate in the general guidelines as SUSI (Student Universal Support Ireland) Student Grant Scheme. [As an indication, gross family income of €60k+ is likely to be over the threshold] and will operate in the general guidelines as SUSI (Student Universal Support Ireland) Student Grant Scheme.
Proof of all income is required for each relevant section [photocopies will suffice]
You must be a Registered Student at Trinity College Dublin to be eligible. Proof of registration must be provided.
We may receive data from the Revenue Commissioners and the Department of Social Protection to assist in the evaluation and processing of your application.
If you are unsure whether a source of income should be included in your application, you should provide details of this income in the application form. [In certain circumstances further documentation may be required].
It is important that all applicants give details of all dependent children in respect of the income which is the basis of the application.
You may supply a written description of your own or your family’s circumstances on the ‘Special Circumstances' section if you feel that would be helpful in assessing the application.
A Bursary must be re-applied for every year.
