The JTorry Makeup Academy is a professional bridal & beauty institute dedicated to helping students make their dreams of becoming Professional Makeup Artists a REALITY. This institution is perfect for looking to get their career as a professional makeup artist started.

The comprehensive program will help develop and advance students' skills as makeup artists and set the foundation for the essential skills you will need in this beauty industry. 

This detailed program combines theory, live demonstrations, and hands-on training on the latest beauty trends. Students will learn the techniques that will allow them to advance their professional careers further or begin their freelance makeup artistry careers.

This is a MANDATORY 8-day course that consists of 2 hours of lectures and learning techniques and 2 hours of practice time for each day. The practice time on a live model will depend on the availability of the student's models. There will be homework assigned to students, which is required to be completed to help contribute to the student's skill development. 

The program is designed for Bridals, Special Events & Beauty Makeup, although we will discuss other avenues during the sessions.

STUDENT INFORMATION:

 COURSE OUTLINE & PRICING:

This is a MANDATORY 8-day course that is dedicated to teaching you the basic skills necessary to become a professional makeup artist. 

The classes will consist of 2 hours of lectures and learning techniques and 2 hours of practice time. The practice time on a live model will depend on the availability of models.

You may be eligible for our internship program, based on the completion of your certification. The internship is a great way to build your portfolio, help you better your skills and provide you with continued training.

This will be a separate application and you can be eligible for this once you have completed your courses.

Once your enrollment is confirmed, you will be receiving a list of recommended products to bring as well as the course dates and times.

 

Course Guidelines:

Day 1:  Intro Business Basics, Sanitation, Client Communication, Professional Makeup Kit Dissected (lecture only)

• Discuss Professional Bridal Artistry Goals and Business Goals 
• Learn the proper tools and key products that belong in the Professional Beauty Kit.  (Note: We will discuss certain products and how they react to certain skin types)
• Discussion about the proper sanitation and the regulatory laws 
• Discuss how to properly and effectively communicate with clients

 Day 2: All About Skin Prep/Complexion (Lecture/ Live Demo/Practical)

• Discuss the various makeup looks, Soft Glam, Bridal, Natural, and Retro Etc.
• Discuss how to communicate with clients to give them the look they want.
• Learn how to identify skin types and to be able to work with different skin types such as Dry, Mature, Sensitive, Oily, etc.
• Learn which primers to use for various skin types
• Learn the proper techniques on how to make skin look flawless
• Foundation- learn how to properly color match, mix foundations formulas, and blend colors to create the perfect color for your client
• Skin- Color Correcting- the importance of color correcting, how to correctly color correct clients, and properly match concealers
• Contour and Highlight- Learn the difference between Liquid, Crème, and Airbrush and know which is best for certain skin types.
• Learn how to apply blush and be able to choose which ones fit the look
• Learn the different face shapes and architecture to be able to enhance them with contour and highlight

• Learn how to set the face to ensure it will last all-day

Day 3:  Full Flawless Complexion Part II & Eye Brow (Continuation) (lecture/ live demo/Practical)

• Learn the proper techniques on how to make skin look flawless
• Learn the importance of moisturizing all skin types and use what products to give it the best canvas
• Foundation- learn how to properly color match, and blend colors to create the perfect color for your client   
• Skin- Color Correcting- the importance of color correcting, how to correctly apply color correcting to clients, how to properly match concealers to different skin tones
• Continue on Contour and Highlight Work on Model Skin
• Students will be able to complete the full-face flawless application for any special occasion
• Learn how to shape and sculpt brows 
• Student will work on another student or practice on their own skin

Lips (lecture/ live demo)

• Identify various lips
• Learn how to communicate with clients regarding desired lip shade 
• Learn how to line lips and blend lip colors to finish off your client’s perfect look  
• Learn what colors look best with clients' skin tones and the occasion 
• Learn how to clean the client’s lipstick if it goes outside their natural line

Day 4: All About Eyes  (lecture/ Practical/live demo) 

• All about Eyebrows-learn which arch is the best for eye shapes and how to create a clean eyebrow shape that is timeless for the client
• Learn how to identify eye shapes in order to enhance all the various eye shapes
• Learn the basis of creating a natural look and blending eye colors, 
• Learn how to work with different eye shadow colors
• Learn the foundation of eye shadow colors.

WEEK 2

Day 5: Eyes Cont. - Natural Smokey Eyes/Soft Bridal Glam (lecture/live demo/Practical) 

* Students are required to bring a model

• Natural look -learn the basis of creating a natural look and blending eye colors
• Learning how to pick the eye shadow tones to enhance clients' eyes 
• Learn how to create the perfect Wing eyeliner.
• Go over drop shadow, and eyeliner application
• Will go over the homework from the weekend and provide feedback on your work

Practical

• Work On the Model And create A Full Soft Natural Glam Eye Makeover Application

Homework:

• Clean Brushes And Prepare Kit
• Review Day 5 Workbook/Notes

Day 6: Eyes Cont. - Smoky Dramatic Eyes (lecture/ live demo/Practical)

* Students are required to bring a model.

• Learn how to create a Soft Smoky look, Smokey, Halo Smoky eyes

Practical

• Work On Models And Create A Dramatic Eye Look Of Choice

Day 7: Eyes Cont. - Cut Crease/Gltter Application (lecture/ live demo)

*Students are required to bring a model.

• Smoky to Cut Crease & Dramatic Look- learn how to properly perform a cut crease and practice dramatic looks. Glitter Application. Instructor Will Demonstrate Cut Crease  Eye Look On Model

Practical

• Work On Models, Create A Cut Crease Of Choice

Day 8: Final Exam - Graduation Day

*Students are required to bring a model.

• Comprehension Final Exam
• Practical (Timed) Final Exam - Please bring a model for the live demonstration portion of the exam. Combine all the techniques you learned and apply to the Model. The student will pick the desired look for the final exam. 
• Graduation - Certification Award Ceremony, Please invite your family and friends to share with your joy on your great achievement! 

Upon completion of the Pro Makeup Course: The student will receive a Professional Makeup Certification and be officially “JTorry  Certified”

Course Investment:

Professional Makeup Certification Course - $3500 fee (This is a NON-Negotiable Fee, we require FULL payment to be made prior to the first class. Payments can be made via Credit Cards, PayPal, or Cash.)

Pro Makeup Kit:

You are more than welcome to bring your own Pro  kit. Please make sure it’s not your personal makeup.  Once you have registered and paid the full amount or ½ of the Tuition fee, We will send out a recommended kit list that you should have in order to successfully complete the course to do your homework. 

We do provide a Professional Makeup Kit that you are welcome to purchase. Students have the option to purchase a kit one week before the start date to ensure everything is in the kit. We hand-pick each item and put it together for our students. We want to make sure our students are fully equipped to perform professional Makeup artistry on all skin types and skin tones. 

Pro Starter Makeup Kit is $1499 + 8.25 % Sales Tax and includes only the professional line that JTorry personally uses on her clients.

JTorry Makeup Kits Available: 

1. Pro Starter Makeup Kit is $1499. This kit is perfect to start off with and be able to build on. You will still be able to complete all the various looks and be able to work on all skin tones with this kit.

Internship Guidelines:

Immediately following the completion of the course, you will be eligible to apply for our competitive internship program. You will be given opportunities to shadow Jenny’s team on actual clients and learn further about the Bridal Beauty Industry. The internship is unpaid and is for your benefit so you can continue to learn more about the industry. This is a great way to enhance your confidence while improving your skills.

Only 1 applicant will be chosen for the internship which is 60 hours over the course of 3 months. The student will have one month after graduation to apply for the internship.

This will be a separate application, you can be eligible for this once you have completed and graduated from your course(s). At that time, please email hr@jtorryart.com to request an application.

Terms and Conditions:

• Students must be 18 years or older, and must present their ID’s 
• Classes are MANDATORY, meaning we require your attendance at all 8 classes.
• Students are responsible for their own transportation
• Students are responsible for their own models. Students have to notify the instructor in advance if they can’t find a model so arrangements can be possibly made. 
• Students are encouraged to take photos during the course; however, video recordings are strictly prohibited during instruction.
• Social Media - we ask that you post on Social Media to tag @jtorrymakeupacademy on all your posts related to the Academy.
• We have the right to cancel a course, whereby a full refund will be given.
• Any tuition payments or JTorry Makeup Kit fees are non-refundable. 

Model Rules and Guidelines:

• Your model must be 18 years or older.
• Your model must not be an MUA or, in any way, be affiliated with the beauty industry.
• It would be best to let us know who your model is before the dates listed as we do a background check on the model to ensure that they are not associated with the beauty industry.
• If your model cancels or you do not have a model scheduled, please let the instructor know in advance, or you will have to practice on yourself.
• The Model must complete the following form prior to the session. Please send this link to your model: Model Release Form
• Your model must follow our policy and procedures.

 

📝 NOTE TO REMEMBER! 

• Make arrangements to bring a model on days 5, 6, 7, and 8 — the day of your exam. 
• It would be ideal to have models with different skin tones for each day, as this will help you practice and gain confidence in working with diverse skin tones and types.
• Your model should arrive one hour after the class starts.
• If you're unable to find a model, please inform us in advance, and we'll assist you in finding one.
• Please dress professionally, with no flip flops, and low-cut t-shirts. 
• Please make sure to let your model fill up the form: Model Release Form

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED:

We highly recommend you also enroll in the  “2-DAY SPECIAL OCCASION/BRIDAL HAIRSTYLING COURSE” class, to help you further launch your career. This is crucial in order to complete your client’s entire look.

Special Occasion/Bridal Hairstyling Course: $2500 - Discounted rate of $2000.00 if you have completed the JTorry Professional Makeup Artist Certification. Hair Mannequin is included.  Hair Kit not included. List will be provided.

SPECIAL OCCASION/BRIDAL HAIRSTYLING COURSE

Two-Day Course - 6 Hours Each day

Day 1 - Students will work on Mannequin,

• Learn how to properly Tease Hair 
• Learn how to create Voluminous curls that last all day 
• Learn how to style & frame bangs to clients' preference
• Learn how to clip in hair extensions

• Style 3: Hair side down 

Day 2 - Learn the rest of the popular hairstyles

1. I understand that I may come in contact with confidential information during my time at JTorry Studio/ JTorry Makeup and Hair Artistry/ JTorry Makeup Academy.  As part of my condition with JTorry Studio/ JTorry Makeup and Hair Artistry/ JTorry Makeup Academy, I hereby undertake to keep in strict confidence any information regarding any client, employee, or business of JTorry Studio/ JTorry Makeup and Hair Artistry/ JTorry Makeup Academy, I will do this in accordance with JTorry Studio/ JTorry Makeup and Hair Artistry/ JTorry Makeup Academy, privacy policy and applicable laws.
   
   
2. I acknowledge and agree (a) that all intellectual property and any other plans, specifications, designs, and other documents and materials created or related to the services to be provided hereunder and any information, work in progress, trade secrets, or other secret or confidential matter related to the business or projects of the of JTorry Studio/ JTorry Makeup and Hair Artistry / JTorry Makeup Academy constitute confidential information ("Confidential Information"), and (b) shall not use, copy or disclose to any person, firm or corporation any such Confidential Information unless such use, copying or disclosure is necessary to accomplish my duties hereunder and has been authorized in writing by JTorry Studio/ JTorry Makeup and Hair Artistry/ JTorry Makeup Academy.
   
   
3. I  agree that all copyrightable material, websites, and social media profiles and URLs, including writings, software, drawings, and designs, and all ideas, inventions, improvements, developments, and discoveries made, conceived or reduced to practice by me, whether individually or in collaboration with others, during the course of performance under this Agreement, which relate in any manner to the JTorry Studio/ JTorry Makeup and Hair Artistry/ JTorry Makeup Academy's business or to the services provided hereunder, are the sole property of JTorry Studio/ JTorry Makeup and Hair Artistry/ JTorry Makeup Academy; and the Contractor hereby assigns to the JTorry Studio/ JTorry Makeup and Hair Artistry/ JTorry Makeup Academy all right, title and interest in and to all such intellectual property, including without limitation any worldwide copyrights, moral rights, patents and any and all other such rights of whatever kind, and the right to obtain registrations, renewals, reissues and extensions of the same. I agree to execute such further documents and to do such further acts as may be necessary to perfect the foregoing assignments and to protect the JTorry Studio/ JTorry Makeup and Hair Artistry/ JTorry Makeup Academy’s rights.
