What to Prepare for your Audition
Video recordings of you performing:
Two speeches that are contrasting, and you should be a different character in each speech
We like to see differences in each speech in terms of mood, emotion and pace. For example, Romeo at Juliet’s balcony in Romeo and Juliet - the mood is romantic, the main emotion is love, and the pace is fast in parts and sometimes slow. In contrast, when Mark Anthony speaks at Caesar's funeral, the mood is dark, the main emotion is anger, and the pace is fast.
1-2 minutes maximum per speech
Recording on a smart phone is ok. Please use a tripod to keep the camera steady.
Ensure that background noise is reduced so we can hear you well.
Please start the video by introducing the title of the speech and the character you are playing.
We are happy for you to submit speeches from famous plays, or your own adaptation of a story that you like. You may have an original speech that you have written yourself – this is also acceptable.
