Dear Parent(s)/Guardian(s),
Carter G. Woodson School is continuing school and education for grades K-12 from June 21 to July 30th. We are going to continue to follow all CDC protocols. This continuous learning program is going to be fun and engaging. Students will be able to learn about farming, computer coding, the visual arts, and core academic subjects. There will be an in-person and online option for students. High school students will have engaging activities as well as computer-based instruction. High school students will be able to earn credits under a credit recovery program. Please complete the survey. We are looking forward to seeing your child at our continuous summer learning program.
*Continue Remote/Virtual Learning- This allows a student to remain enrolled at Carter G. Woodson School. We plan to place a webcam in every classroom. This will allow families that remain at home to see everything that is taking place in the classroom as if the child is in the room in-person. Teachers and students will be able to interact as they currently do through Zoom/Google Meet. Our current remote learning schedule will change to reflect the in-person school day schedule.
*Move to In-Person Learning- This means that students will return to the school campus for learning. Students at school will be required to wear masks. Students and staff will practice 6 feet of social distancing. Extra cleaning and hand sanitizer stations will be available. Lunch will be in the classroom. Specials will be in the base classroom. Special teachers will come to the rooms so that students at home will still have Specials interactively.
Thank You,
Benjamin Harris
School Director
