  • The Senior Accountant is responsible for performing a variety of complex accounting tasks, including financial reporting, cash flow management, Form 990 preparation, and assisting with HR/Payroll duties. This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently.

    Responsibilities:

    Financial Reporting:

    • Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.

    • Ensure the accuracy and completeness of financial records.

    • Develop and maintain financial reporting procedures.

    Cash Flow Management:

    • Monitor and manage the organization's cash flow.

    • Prepare cash flow forecasts and identify potential cash flow issues.

    • Optimize cash management practices.

    Form 990 Preparation:

    • Assist in the preparation of Form 990 for non-profit entities (house

      corporations).

    • Gather and analyze financial data for tax reporting purposes.

    • Ensure compliance with tax regulations.

    HR/Payroll Duties:

    • Oversee the processing of payroll for chapter employees, including House

      Directors, House Chefs, and Housekeepers.  

    • Prepare quarterly and year-end payroll forms, including W-2s.

    • Assist with employee onboarding and benefits administration.

    Other Accounting Duties:

    • Reconcile complex accounts and resolve discrepancies.

    • Assist with the annual audit process.

    • Develop and implement accounting policies and procedures.

    • Provide guidance and support to accounting staff.

    Supervisory Role:

    • Supervises the Staff Accountant, AP Specialist, and AR Specialist

    Other Duties:

    • Other duties as assigned.  

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field.  

    • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience.

    • Strong knowledge of GAAP.

    • Experience with non-profit accounting and Form 990 preparation.

    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and accounting software.

    • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.  

    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.  

    • Membership in Sigma Alpha Epsilon Fraternity preferred, but not required.
