• Thank you for your interest in teaching in the 2021 PEF Summer Enrichment Program!

    Covid-19 General Information:

Due to the global pandemic, the PEF is carefully planning our PEF Summer Enrichment Program to ensure the safety of our students, parents, teachers, and administration. Based on current recommendations from health officials, we are anticipating  that ALL classes will have smaller class sizes, and will be with only one teacher throughout the program (as opposed to class blocks in the past). This means that we are planning for all classes to be self-contained to minimize exposure risks.

Please be advised that the planning is a fluid process. We are planning for multiple format options, such as a modified in-person program, class kits for students to complete at home, and a virtual program. You will be asked questions about all of these options in this form. Please indicate all that you are interested in.

Here is what we looking for:

We are looking for teachers that have a passion for teaching. Classes are offered for grades Pre-K - 12, and all classes will be self-contained throughout the 5-week, 4-hour per day program. For grades Pre-K - 5, please plan for a multiple subject style class, while grades 6-12 should focus on only one subject.

Please visit our website to download last year's class schedule and view types of classes offered www.pased.org/summer

Please let us know about your class!
  •

The following section pertains to your class. All elementary students will most likely be in one self-contained class learning from a wide variety of subjects with the same teacher, and no blocks offered. Students at the middle and high school level will be learning one subject from only one teacher with no blocks offered. As you fill out the next sections, please think about the different ways to make your class interesting and engaging under this new format.

  • Due to the current climate, if an in-class program is not possible, PEF would like to know if you are open to teaching in any one of the following program structures.

Class Kits - Subject-specific kits would be developed by teachers for students to use at home. These kits would include your written lesson plans and a set of specific supplies not to exceed $25 per student.

  •

Virtual Programming - This option is being explored if campuses are not available next summer. The platforms used would most likely be the ones determined by PUSD, as to ensure equitable access through the PUSD Chromebooks.

  • Course Proposal: Elementary School

The following questions pertain to the class you are proposing. Please only complete the form for grade ranges you are interested in teaching.
  • The following questions pertain to an elementary class proposal for those interested in teaching incoming PreK through 5th grade. While we are looking for multiple subject classes for this grade range, please think of at least 3 subjects within your class that will make it unique, for at least 2 grades. For example, Ms. Smith's 3rd-4th grade class will focus on geography, science, and art. This will allow parents to get a sense of the topics to be covered and ways that this class will be unique. Please note that cooking is not encouraged this year.

  • Please tell us about your class! We ask that you give us a grade range of two grade levels you are willing to teach (ex. 2nd and 3rd grade).
