  • Behavior

****The first few months upon adopting tend to be the most difficult. Your new dog has been through many transitions, and your home is just one more transition . New behaviors can crop up, or previously seen behaviors can be amplified during the transition period. Working through these issues can be challenging and time consuming, and so please be as clear and honest as possible so we can help you get as close to the right fit as possible. Make sure all household members are on board with your answers!!! Please note that dogs have the emotional capacity of a 3-4 year old child.***
  •  NOTE: If in our process, you realize that you have used a training technique that used force, fear or pain - don’t feel bad. The past decade has seen a huge scientific breakthrough in our understanding of canine behavior and training.  Most  of us have used these outdated methods, because that was what we were taught. We strive to  help applicants learn  about teaching your dog in a positive/force free environment that builds learning and trust.
