****The first few months upon adopting tend to be the most difficult. Your new dog has been through many transitions, and your home is just one more transition . New behaviors can crop up, or previously seen behaviors can be amplified during the transition period. Working through these issues can be challenging and time consuming, and so please be as clear and honest as possible so we can help you get as close to the right fit as possible. Make sure all household members are on board with your answers!!! Please note that dogs have the emotional capacity of a 3-4 year old child.***

The full Summit Dog adoption process includes a Zoom interview, a personal reference check, and then a meet and greet! There is never a guarantee that an adoption will occur, until the adoption paperwork is signed. Submission of this application confirms that you understand and agree to the need for screening of adopters, and certify that the information supplied on this application is true and correct. The terms “guardian” and “owner” shall be considered interchangeable. Please initial here that all your responses are truthful and complete. *
