Palmetto Fellows Scholarship - up to $10,000
Initial Eligibility:
Incoming freshmen must have a minimum 3.5 GPA on a 4.0 UGS, SAT minimum score of 1200 (critical reading and math) or a minimum equivalent ACT composite score of 27, and be in the top 6% of their class. Recommendations for the Palmetto Fellows Scholarships are made to the Commission on Higher Education by high school Guidance Counselors.
Renewal Eligibility:
Students receiving the Palmetto Fellows Scholarship must maintain a minimum institutional grade point average of 3.0 GPA and earn a minimum of 30 credit hours per academic year (fall, spring, and summer).
LIFE Scholarship - up to $7,500
Initial Eligibility:
Incoming freshmen must meet two (2) out of the following three (3) criteria: 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 UGS and/or SAT minimum score of 1100 (critical reading and math) or a minimum equivalent ACT composite score of 24 and/or top 30% of graduating class.
Renewal Eligibility:
Students receiving LIFE must earn a minimum LIFE cumulative grade point average of 3.0 and must successfully complete an average of 30 credit hours per academic year (fall, spring and summer). If LIFE eligibility is lost, it may be regained by meeting eligibility requirements in the next award year. The “LIFE GPA” is based upon the grades earned at all eligible higher education institutions.
HOPE Scholarship - up to $2,800
Initial Eligibility:
Incoming freshmen that do not meet criteria for the Palmetto Fellow or LIFE Scholarships may be eligible for the HOPE Scholarship if the student has graduated from high school with a minimum 3.0 GPA. The HOPE Scholarship is non-renewable. A student may qualify for the LIFE Scholarship his/her sophomore year by meeting LIFE renewal requirements (see above).
All Palmetto Fellows, LIFE, and HOPE recipients must be a South Carolina resident at the time of high school graduation.
South Carolina Tuition Grant - up to $3,500
Initial Eligibility:
To be considered, students must complete the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) by June 30th and be a SC resident. Eligible students must have a 2.0 GPA on a 4.0 UGS, or a minimum SAT score of 900 (critical reading and math), or a minimum equivalent ACT composite score of 19, or must be in the top 75% of their high school graduating class.
Renewal Eligibility:
Students must complete the FAFSA by June 30th each year and be a SC resident. A student must complete 24 credit hours per academic year to qualify for renewal and meet federal satisfactory academic progress standards.
