  • APPLICATION INFORMATION

    WHAT IT IS: The Chamberlain Scholarship program provides a scholarship covering the conference registration fee, minus a $10 processing fee, for one individual from each chapter to attend the 2026 AFP ICON (April 26-28 , 2026 in San Diego) with an additional $1,000 to assist in travel and lodging. For more information about this conference, please visit afpicon.com. This scholarship is given by the AFP Southern Colorado Chapter and the AFP Foundation for Philanthropy.

    SCHOLARSHIP REQUIREMENTS:

    • You must be a current member of AFP Southern Colorado Chapter and employed at a non-profit organization as a fundraising professional, or an executive director, or spend a substantial amount of time fundraising for your organization
    • You must never have attended an AFP or NSFRE International Conference on Fundraising
    • If selected, you must complete an online evaluation form about your experience at the AFP ICON
    • You must submit a report to AFP Southern Colorado Chapter and agree to share those comments in the Chapter e-newsletter and on the Chapter website
    • Only one person per chapter, per year is selected for this program.

    ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: 

    • A processing fee of $10 for registration is the responsibility of the recipient.
    • The Chamberlain Scholarship grant will pay the registration fee directly to the conference registration company.
    • Chamberlain Scholars are responsible for registering themselves online for the conference by using a special discount code that will be provided via email from AFP Global after being selected.
    • Scholars are responsible for making their own travel and lodging arrangements. The AFP Southern Colorado Chapter will send a check in the amount of $1,000 to the scholarship recipient to assist with these costs.
    • Chamberlain Scholars who had already registered before they were named a Chamberlain Scholar are required to request a refund in writing. Instructions will be provided in the congratulatory email. Scholars will be refunded all but $10.00 of the amount they paid for registration.

Be sure to have your supervisor email info@afpsoco.org giving their support that if selected, you would be able to attend the 2026 AFP ICON. Be sure to upload a resume and a narrative describing how this opportunity will be beneficial to you, to your organization, and to your career in fundraising.

  • SCHOLARSHIP CONDITIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:

    I am employed as a full-time fundraising professional or spend at least fifty percent of my time fundraising for my employer.  I am a current member of the AFP Southern Colorado chapter and have never attended an AFP ICON/NSFRE/AFP International Conference on Fundraising and understand that only one individual from my local organization can be selected as a Chamberlain Scholar for 2026. If selected, I agree to complete an online evaluation to share my experience at the AFP ICON and submit a report to AFP Southern Colorado Chapter. I agree those comments can be shared in the Chapter e-newsletter and on the Chapter website.
