Assist the Aquatics Director with assessing all staff members’ swimming abilities during pre-camp.

Enforce all waterfront safety rules for all persons on camp property.

Assist with assessing all campers’ swimming abilities at the beginning of each session and classifying them according to their ability level.

Assist with teaching water safety and swimming lessons to campers and staff.

Responsible for the health and safety of campers and staff while at the waterfront area.

When not acting as a lifeguard will assist the other unit staff members with all unit programs and supervision of campers.

Reports any accidents promptly to the Camp Director and Health Supervisor.

Ensures the proper use and care of all equipment.

Lead by example. Motivate and encourage staff to ensure the campers well-being and happiness.

Emphasize safety and waterfront rules
-
Follow all ACA, ARC, GSUSA and NYDOH standards and regulations.

Participates in all aspects of camp including pre-camp, open house and post camp.

Attends staff meetings when scheduled.

Apply behavior management techniques to conflicts with children when necessary. Report incidents to supervisor immediately.

Report suspected child abuse to supervisor immediately.

Accepts other responsibilities as deemed necessary by the Camp Director.
