  • CO2 Emissions from Passenger Vehicles

The vehicles that we drive have a large impact on the environment. Every mile, every gallon, and every trip add up to each one of us polluting our atmosphere with CO2. We are called to care for our common home. Below you will find many opportunities to do that.
    CO2 Emissions from Passenger Vehicles
  • Personal

Please mark the options you would like to accomplish to reduce your carbon footprint.

  • The following bar graph depicts a comparison of emissions and ownership cost per vehicle in Pennsylvania (PA As described in the graph, cost of ownership in terms of maintenance, taxes, fuel cost, and insurance. The comparison is based on electric cars fueling from the US average grid, from the Pennsylvanian average grid, a gasoline vehicle, and a hydrogen vehicle. Electric vehicle cost of ownership in PA represents a significantly better value compared to hydrogen vehicles, and pounds of carbon dioxide per mile for gasoline and hydrogen is about three times the emissions of electric vehicles. Owning an electric vehicle is not only better for the environment, but also, can save you money.

  • Closing Prayer

A MOMENT TO REFLECT AND PRAY AS A FAMILY

God of love, show us our place in this world

As channels of your love for all the creatures of this earth,

For not one of them is forgotten in your sight.

Enlighten those who possess power and money

That they may avoid the sin of indifference,

That they may love the common good, advance the wealthy,

And care for this world in which we live.

The poor and the earth are crying out.

O Lord, seize us with your power and light, help us to protect all life,

To prepare for a better future,

For the coming of your Kingdom of justice, peace, love, and beauty.

    Praise be to you! Amen
