Art on the Fly

Art provides a gateway to local culture and nothing welcomes someone to CU quite like a piece of local art! 40 North, in collaboration with University of Illinois - Willard Airport, is thrilled to announce a new rotation of Art on the Fly. This program will select work from 2 local artists that will be reproduced on vinyl and adhered to 2 large (6' x 8') recessed walls leading to security checkpoint. Featured art will be displayed for one year and selected artists will also receive a $150 stipend. Whether arriving or departing, Art on the Fly reflects the uniqueness of this community and welcomes, amuses, and inspires travelers of all kinds! Submissions are due by 11:59pm on Monday, July 13th.
ELIGIBILITY
- Established and emerging artists are welcome to apply.
- Applicants must be based in Champaign County.
- Artwork must be of an appropriate nature for public family-friendly viewing.
- All genres, styles, and media will be considered.
- Details of existing artwork are permitted

Image Submissions

Each artist may submit up to 3 hi res images. Images should be 5184 pixels wide x 6912 pixels high (72" x 96" - 72 pixels/inch). If you are unable to provide images at this scale or are unable to resize existing images, please submit available images and make note in the comment section. Selected works may be re-shot for the purpose of print quality.
