  • Guidance on completing this form

Thank you so much for choosing TAA to support you through into the very best job in the world; we will not disappoint! Before you start your application, here is some advice:

You will be asked for a personal statement explaining your reasons for wishing to study acupuncture - you might find it useful to refer to the ‘Admissions FAQs’ on our website, in particular the personal attributes.

You will be asked to provide the names and emails of two referees, one of who should know you in a work capacity. You will also be required to upload documentation to support your application at the end (which can be photos of the originals), so its worth getting these ready before you start. The documents you will need are:

Photo ID such as a passport or driving license
Proof of current address (if using driving license as photo ID, this can also be used for your address, or you can provide a current household bill showing your address)
    A head and shoulders photo.
A copy of your highest/most recent educational qualification certificate.
For international students and English as a second language students, please see 'Admissions FAQs'

If you are unable to find any of the above, please submit your application without them for now and we'll discuss this with you.

You can click on each page to ‘Save your progress’ and this will trigger an email to the address that you have given which allows you to return to your application at a later date. We won't see anything you've written or receive your application until you click on the final Submit button.

If you do need advice about your application, or to complete this form, please get in touch with us through the Contact Us button at the top of the homepage.

  • Education history and qualifications

    - please add the highest level first, and then add in date order, using the + button to add more rows

    - please note that if you don't have the standard entry requirements you can discuss with us at interview the life and work experience that you bring, and how can support and has prepared you for studying this subject

  • Employment history

Please detail all work, including unpaid work if relevant to your application. The 'description' box can be dragged and extended to the right to give you more space for writing. If you have a very long work history, please feel free to include the more recent/relevant history only, and additional information can be discussed at interview.

Please note that while a current qualification and work experience in a conventional medicine or allied health discipline cannot usually exempt you from whole course units/modules, we can in some cases look at exemptions to some aspects of written submissions.  We can discuss this with you at interview and agree more detailed arrangements if you are offered a place.

  • Disability and Studying

As per our Equal opportunities policy, we will consider applications from people with a disability as long as basic fitness to practise criteria are met. If you would like to discuss your situation prior to completing this application please contact us, we’ll be happy to talk it through with you.

  • Self declaration of criminal record and cautions

    - please note that convictions normally considered 'spent' must also be declared

  • If you have answered 'yes' to either of the above, you may wish to write a brief statement in support of your application and submit it with this application.

Please note the offer of a place is not a guarantee of BAcC membership at the end of the programme, and you are advised to contact them directly before accepting a place in the event a prior conviction may have a bearing on fitness to practise.

  • References

Please provide two references from people who are not related to you, and who have known you for three years or more. One should be a current or previous employer/tutor, and one could be your acupuncture practitioner, if you have one. They will be contacted and asked to give their opinion as to your suitability to undertake this course. If you have attended a previous BAAB acupuncture college or course, a tutor/course leader should be one of your references, so please include their name and contact details here.

  • Supporting documentation

Please attach a copy/photo of the following documents. If there are any gaps you can email them later, but it is preferable to have everything in one place if possible.

    • A copy of your most highest educational qualification
    • Proof of identity bearing your name and a photograph, such as passport or driving licence
    • Proof of current address if not using your driving licence as proof of identity (such as utility bill or bank statement).
    • A head and shoulders photo (you are allowed to smile, but please make it a current image that we can recognise you from)

And for non-British nationals we will also need:

    • Proof of residency status and identity (note that as a private college it is not possible to obtain a study visa for this course).
    • For non-native speakers, please see the Admissions FAQs in the prospectus for language requirements, and upload your proof of Engliah language qualification, if required.
