    8-Week Wheel and Handbuilding Class // $400+tax

This class is designed for potters who want to experience both wheel throwing and handbuilding in the 8-weeks. All our classes are small enough to allow for individual attention and our teachers are more than happy to provide it! This class is designed for beginners and intermediates and offers a gentle introduction to pottery including all its elements (hand building, wheel throwing, trimming and glazing) There is no lock-step curriculum. While the instructor demonstrates a wide-variety of techniques, the choice of projects is dependent upon the interest and ability of the individual. We alternate weekly between wheel throwing and handbuilding. We begin by mastering simple shapes on the wheel such as cylinders (cups and mugs), bowls and vases. When shapes are leather hard the student will trim their pieces on the wheel or by hand. When hand building we learn slab building, coiling, pinch pots. When the piece is dry, our technicians bisque fire the pieces and in the final two weeks the students paint their items. Items may be functional, fanciful, decorative, artful, or any combinations of these qualities!

    Clay Damage

Kiln clay explosions are unlikely but they do happen. In the event of a clay piece being damaged due to a kiln explosion, we are happy to provide emotional support and offer you a chance to come in and remake your art piece. Refunds are not provided for damaged clay due to kiln explosions. Please note each artist is responsible for ensuring pieces are securely attached in order to avoid breakage.
