WHAT IS THE NOT SO MINI PRINT EXCHANGE AND FUNDRAISER?
Each year Alberta Printmakers (A/P) hosts a print exchange, exhibition and sale to showcase the work of local and international printmakers, and to raise vital funds toward A/P’s operations and programming.
All participants in this exchange will submit an edition of ten (10) 8” x 10” prints.
To raise funds:
A/P retains 2 copies of each edition to sell and auction
All funds raised directly support A/P operations and programs that serve the local Calgary community and beyond
This year, we see the shift to online fundraising as a great opportunity to reach a broader audience and connect them with incredible original prints to support a great cause
In return each participant will:
Receive 8 original prints from other participants, selected at random
Have their submitted artwork promoted on the A/P website and social media platforms
Be included in the international group exhibition in the A/P Main Space Gallery from December 4 - 19, 2020
Have their work available for international sale and auction, allowing the opportunity to be included in private collection(s).
WHO SHOULD PARTICIPATE?
This opportunity is open to
ALL artists working in print-based media
, from anywhere around the globe.
This includes print-artists of
ALL experience levels
, from very beginner to expert (that means you - we want to see your awesome prints!).
Whether you are working in a studio setting or from home,
all forms of print-based processes are welcome.
HOW DO I PARTICIPATE?
TERMS AND CONDITIONS
To confirm your participation, each participant MUST submit the following NO LATER THAN November 25, 2020:
1. Complete the ONLINE SUBMISSION FORM
This online form will appear after clicking NEXT at the bottom of this page.
2. Process your submission fee.
This can be done in person (if you are local) or online via the Online Submission Form after clicking NEXT
Fee for A/P Members: $20 per submission (purchase or renew your A/P membership HERE)
Fee for non-members: $30 per submission
Additional International submission fee: $5 + your member or non-member fee per submission
NOTE: Participants are able to submit more than one edition of ten (10) prints. A submission fee must be processed for EACH edition of ten (10) prints submitted.
ABOUT FEES: Submission fees support A/P, including the coordination and administration required for this exchange and fundraiser. The additional international fee will contribute to the postage required to mail the 8 exchange prints.
In these challenging times, A/P is mindful that submission fees may be prohibitive. If this is the case, please contact us to confidentially discuss an alternative fee.
After you register, each participant MUST submit the following to A/P:
3. Prepare and package your edition of ten (10) 8” x 10” prints.
There is no restriction on image size as long as it fits within the 8” x 10” paper size. Please note that paper size cannot exceed 8" x 10"; any prints exceeding 8” x 10” will not be accepted and cannot be returned.
Each print needs to be fully dry with glassine or tissue paper between each print, and all packaged in a protective manner to prevent artwork damage.
NOTE: A/P is not responsible for prints that are damaged or lost in transport. A/P reserves the right to refuse submissions that do not fit the size requirements or if prints condition is not suitable (i.e., wet ink, etc.). Prints that do not fit these requirements, or are not suitable will not be returned.
4. Complete the ONLINE ARTWORK INFORMATION form no later than December 1, 2020
After submitting part 1, you will receive an automated form for you to provide us with the following:
- Artwork Title, Medium, Paper/Substrate
- An uploaded image of your work to the following specification:
300dpi with 1600 pixels on the shortest side; no larger than 5MB
NOTE: A/P may also be documenting submitted artwork in the A/P space. A/P will be using your submitted image, as well as other documentation of your work to promote A/P, the Not So Mini Exhibition, and the Not So Mini Online Auction. A/P will make every reasonable effort to ensure that the artist is credited. By signing and submitting your application form, you permit A/P to use images of submitted artwork in print and/or electronic media for these purposes.
5. Deliver/Mail your edition of ten (10) 8” x 10” prints.
Local editions MUST be delivered to A/P no later than December 1, 2020 at 5:00pm to this address:

WHAT ARE THE EXHIBITION, SALE, & AUCTION DETAILS?
All prints will be on display in the 2020 Not So Mini International Group Exhibition in the A/P Main Space Gallery from December
4th to the 19th, 2020
The exhibition will be accessible in-person to viewers within our hours of operation (10am-8pm Wednesday, 10am-6pm Thursday to Saturday).
Sale and Auction
ONE copy of each edition will be available to purchase outright to the first buyer, whether in-person or online starting Saturday December 5 until Saturday December 19th at 1pm.
Any of these purchases can be brought home or shipped to the lucky buyer right away.
ONE copy will be reserved and available via online auction. Bidders will be able to try their luck on a reduced price and/or grabbing their last remaining favourite print(s) before they’re going, going gone!
The online auction will go live on Saturday, December 5 at 10am, and will close on December 19th at 1pm. The online auction will also open on the 4th of December and run for the duration of the show.
