• NASA Club Codes and Regulations (CCR) Test

    The NASA Club Codes and Regulations (CCR) test requires a 100% Passing Score in order to be issued your NASA Competition License. All questions are derived from the CCR.

    Please read carefully and answer the questions below to the best of your knowledge. 

    This is an open book test. Ideally, you are knowledgeable enough about the NASA CCR to answer this test without referring to it. You are however permitted to refer back to it if you're not sure about any of your answers.

  • What do you do in this situation? The pace car exits the pits in front of you with lights on and waives you by.*
  • During a race restart (not an aborted start) situation, do we resume racing in double file or single file order?*
  • You are racing with another car when there is an incident between two corner stations. The corner station before the incident is waiving a single yellow while the station after is not displaying a flag. When can you pass?*
  • If you are the pole sitter for the race, by default which side do you start?*
  • What is considered blocking (per the NASA CCR)?*
  • Where does the passing car have to be in relation to the other car in order to have the "right to the line"?*
  • As it relates to passing in corners; once the passing car has the right to the line, how much "racing room" does the driver being passed need to leave?*
  • What is a motionless Yellow and separate Red Flag mean?*
  • Is there a time you can drive counter course direction?
  • How many races does one need to compete in to clear “rookie” status?*
  • What is the time you must be able to escape your car in an emergency (i.e. exit test)?*
  • Your race group has two green flag starts to separate classes in the same group. The first group starts, but two cars have an incident disabling one on the outside of the track past turn 1. Your group is approaching the starter where you expect to get the green flag and instead you see a Green and Yellow flag. Is this a valid start for your race?*
  • What happens if you have contact with another car? What do you do?*
  • You are not satisfied with the outcome of an appeal made to the race director. You’ve decided to make an executive appeal. You should do which of the following first?*
  • The blue flag with diagonal Yellow Stripe means?*
  • You learn of an issue with your competitor’s vehicle that could get him or her disqualified. What is your obligation? (Choose the best answer)*
