  • About Cruzan Satos Rescue

    Cruzan Satos Rescue is a 100% volunteer-run, foster-based dog rescue dedicated to helping the stray dog population on the island of St. Croix, U.S. Virgin Islands. While our rescue is based in St. Croix, our largest foster networks are located in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and Jacksonville, Florida.

    Our mission is to rescue, rehabilitate, and rehome stray and unwanted dogs while keeping them out of the shelter environment whenever possible. We believe dogs thrive in loving foster homes where they can receive individualized care, socialization, and training while they prepare for their forever families. We are committed to providing every dog with a safe, positive, and supportive path to adoption.

    Adoption Fees

    Our adoption fees help cover the significant medical care and transportation costs incurred for each dog.

    $415 Adoption Fee

    All Cruzan Satos Rescue dogs are:

    Spayed or neutered (or adopted under a spay/neuter agreement if too young)
    Age-appropriate vaccinated
    Microchipped
    Treated for internal and external parasites
    Current on flea and tick prevention
    Examined and cared for by a veterinarian

    By adopting from Cruzan Satos Rescue, you are not only giving a dog a loving home, but also helping us continue our mission of saving vulnerable dogs in St. Croix and giving them a second chance at life.

  •  All adopting parties are required to complete this form prior to adoption. Cruzan Satos Rescue  reserves the right to deny any adoption based on answers to this questionnaire and/or interviews prior to adoptions! 

    If approved, our adoption coordinator will follow up with you within 1-3 business days after summiting the application for a facetime home visit.

  • We fly all our puppies to the states in our own rescue puppy bags, if you are approved to adopt do you agree to send your bag back within 7 days after adoption or be billed $50 to replace the bag?*

  • Terms of agreement:

    We reserve the right to deny anyone to adopt a dog/puppy without explanation. Even if I am applying for a certain dog, I understand that dogs are adopted to the best match and not first come, first served. My application may still be approved but may be better suited to another dog. During the seven (7) day period from the date of adoption, We may refund the adoption fee for a returned animal. In no case will we refund other expenses incurred on behalf of the animal. All adopted animals from our rescue MUST be returned to us ONLY please.

     

  • Upon receipt of this application, an Adoption Coordinator will check your references, including your current vet, and then get back to you about scheduling a facetime home check. All potential adopters are required to have a facetime home check in order to be approved to adopt.

    They will also tell you how to get in touch with the current foster of the dog/puppy who would be a good match for your home. Your application will be processed as quickly as possible, but please understand we are staffed by volunteers and it may take a few days.
