St. Leo's Mission Trip Team Cell phone use policy:
- Because of the nature of this program, youth will have the opportunity to make lasting friendships with their team members and youth from all over the country.
- To ensure and empowe these relationships, we will have limited time with their cell phone.
- We recognize this as a sacrafice for our young people. This sacrafice helps them have the opportunity to better serve the community they are working in and to also help them foster relationships with their team, other youth groups and those we are serving.
- Past St. Leo's Mission Trip team members, especially the team from this summer's mission trip, have advised that this policy increased the satisfaction and joy of their experience and they have advised that the St. Leo's Cell Phone Policy should be kept as is.
- Limited phone activity has also been beneficial for participants in their peace of mind and stress levels.
#1 - Participants will be asked to sacrafice their phone use while traveling with the St. Leo's team on the way to our destination. This will be accomplished by giving up their phones to the adult leaders when they are traveling.
# 2 - Youth will have access to their phones during the evening social time and before breakfast. They will keep their phone in the team room during the day. We will highly encourage them to call home and check in with their family many times during the week.
#3 - Adult leaders will have their phone with them at all times. If your child feels a need to contact parents and to receive phone calls from parents, adult leaders will be prepared to provide their phones for such calls at any time.
#4 - Youth will have access to their phones on the last full day of the program (Thursday) and their phone will remain with them for the duration of the mission trip.
