CONGRATULATIONS! Your student has taken the first step in completing their college degree! In order to be accepted into our program and enroll for dual credit courses, the attached forms must be completed. It is imperative that you review and sign the enclosed documents.

Worthing High School obtained its Provisional Early College High School (ECHS) designation on August 6, 2018. Provisional designation is for an ECHS in the first four years of designation. Our Institute of Higher Education (IHE) is Houston Community College – Central College.

Worthing ECHS currently offers two degree plans: The Academic Track and an Associates of Applied Sciences in Hospitality (AAS). The academic core curriculum courses taken at HCC are transferable to any public college or university in Texas. The AAS degree is completely transferable to the University of Houston – Conrad Hilton College of Hotel and Restaurant Management.

Dual credit courses are offered to all students at Worthing ECHS at no cost to the student or parent. We only require that the student has good attendance and participates fully to ensure that they remain in good academic standing with both HISD and HCC. All Worthing ECHS students must complete the Reading, Writing and Math portions of the Texas Success Initiative Assessment (TSIA) in order to be considered for dual credit courses.
