The Girl Scouts of Connecticut Board of Directors has four non-voting positions for girls age 16 or above. We encourage you to apply for this prestigious position on the Board, where you will get an opportunity to see how the Board operates in carrying out its responsibilities of governance and financial oversight of the organization. Girl members of the Board will have a voice in the discussions that can have an impact and influence on the organization's future. Past girl members of the Board have cited the importance of their experience on the Board and how it has helped them in their college applications. Girl Board members have gone on to top colleges and universities in the nation. If you are not 16 but are interested in serving on the Board, we encourage you to submit your application to be considered for a seat on the Board when you turn 16. Girl members will be expected to attend five meetings per year. At the moment all meetings are being held virtually. In person meetings would take place in varying locations around the state. While best efforts will be made to arrange for girl members to ride with other Board members, applicants must provide their own transportation to Board meetings if no other arrangements can be made.
Term: Girl members are voting members, and shall be appointed for a term of one (1) year, and may serve no more than two (2) consecutive terms. The vote of the girl directors shall be restricted to issues, activities and decisions that have no contractual binding effect on the Corporation, including expenditure of funds, contracts or similar undertakings that involve binding the Corporation to legal obligations
