The Resident Assistant/Peer Mentor Union (“RAPMU”)/UAW Local 2322 is the union of, and exclusive bargaining representative for, all Resident Assistants and Peer Mentors at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst. All UMass Amherst RAs and PMs are covered by the terms of your contract with UMass.
Your signature below gives you the right to a say in the RAPMU and UAW Local 2322 governance, vote on/run for union office, participate in collective bargaining and vote on your contracts with UMass. Your signature below also authorizes the deduction of a one-time $20 initiation fee and deduction of 2% membership dues from your bi-weekly paychecks for this and any future RA or PM appointments you may have.
By signing and submitting this form, you are confirming the following: Yes! I want to be a member of RAPMU/UAW Local 2322. I hereby authorize, by my actual or electronic signature below, RAPMU/UAW Local 2322 union membership dues and initiation fees in an amount certified to the University by the Financial Secretary of the Union to be deducted from my pay and remitted to the Financial Secretary of the Union. These deductions may be terminated only during the first week (defined as Monday through close of day Friday) of classes each semester, or within seven days of signing if signed after the first week of each semester. This authorization shall be in effect for all future UMass Amherst RA or PM appointments I may have, unless revoked by me during the first week of classes in a semester.
