Dear parents,

Carter G Woodson school would like to thank you for your continued participation and support of our athletic Department. For over 20 years we have seen our student-athletes Excel and improve on the athletic field and in the classroom. While participation in athletics is an option at our school, all athletic activities are extracurricular in nature.

All extracurricular activities must be financially supported. In other words our schools athletic program must generate sufficient funds to assist with all costs associated with the program. These costs include but are not limited to uniforms, maintenance of uniforms, equipment, game security, officials, transportation, yearly conference dues, and any tournament entry fees.

In order to help cover the cost of the above expenses, we are requiring that everyone who participates in athletics pay a one time $40 athletic participation fee. These funds will assist the athletic department in paying for these expenses. Students are required to pay this fee only once per school year no matter how many sports they may participate in. If you or your child decides to no longer participate, fees are non-refundable.
