The following form is to help us organize volunteer requests from previous Desert Aid volunteers or for current New Out-of-Town volunteers who want to extend their stay. If you have never volunteered with NMD, do not apply using this form. Your application will not be reviewed. If you have been away from Desert Aid for for a year or more then this application is for you! Please, reach out to volunteer@nomoredeaths.org if you have any question. Thank you!

It may take us a week or two to get back to you with a response. Please consider this information and align your request accordingly. If you haven't attended an orientation in over a year you will be required to attend one if accepted so it's good practice to take that into consideration when submitting your application as orientations are only held the first Sunday of each month. If you are currently out-of-town and requesting organizational housing please fill this application at least one month before your intended date of arrival.

Would you like to stay at one of our volunteer housing spaces (more information about our housing options below)?

The Returner Apartment (Available until the end of March 2026) is a spacious two-bedroom home located right in the middle of Tucson. Very nice space and solely used for housing returning volunteers.

The Volunteer House is where month-long volunteers stay through their program and it's also used as storage for the NMD community. Recently, we voted to expand the capacity to 5 people with three spots being for the month-long volunteers and two spots being for returning volunteers.

The Barn is a base in Ajo used by a number of humanitarian aid groups. Housing for this space needs to be approved by DAWG and the Ajo Sams (please select this option if interested. The vol coords can connect you to the Ajo Sams).

The Pink House is a space shared by NMD and PHP in Arivaca. If you plan on staying there for more than two weeks you must submit a request to DAWG and PHP at least two weeks prior to start day. If you're staying for less than two weeks you just need to announce your intentions and coordinate with the people currently staying there.

Staying as a Guest at a Local Volunteer's Home is an option available if there's no other housing option available during your intended volunteer period and you're comfortable with it. Please check this option even if it's not your first choice so the Volunteer Coordinator can plan ahead.

Recientemente, votamos ampliar la capacidad a 5 personas con tres lugares para voluntarixs de mes, y dos lugares para voluntarixs retornantes.

El Granero es una base en Ajo que usan varios grupos de auxilio humanitario.
Se necesita el apruebo de DAWG y los Sams de Ajo para alojarse. (por favor
elija esta opción si le interesa. Lxs coodinadorxs le podrán conectar con los
Sams de Ajo)

La Casa Rosada es un espacio compartido por NMM y PHP en Arivaca. Si
planea estar ahí por más de dos semanas debe de someter una petición a DAWG y

menos de dos semanas, simplemente tiene que anunciar sus intenciones y

Alojarse como Huésped en la Casa de unx Voluntarix Local es una opción disponible si no hay otra opción de alojamiento disponible durante su período de voluntariado deseado y usted se siente cómodx con ella. Would you like to request a travel stipend to facilitate your return? Food stipends are capped at $40 week. Travel stipends are approved on a case-by-case basis and we prioritize BIPOC returners and returners that can commit to longer periods of time in desert aid. // ¿Le gustaría solicitar una estipendio para facilitar su retorno?
