What time will the planting start and end?
Our day will start at 8AM and end when we are done, likely around 6PM. A small group of people with prep and logistics role will have an early start.
Will you feed us?
Definitely. There will be a rolling lunch break with a variety of food and refreshments available. Those who want to stay for a beverage and bite at the end of the day are welcome to do so.
Can I bring my kids, friends or dog?
Anyone who wants to help with planting is welcome. Unfortunately given the chickens, other animals are not advisable.
What about COVID protocols?
We don't know what COVID will be like in May, but we take health and safety seriously at Avalon and will follow all proper protocols. The planting area is about 15 acres so we will be very spread out and outdoors, but will ask people to remain spread out during breaks and wearing masks.
What kind of work will be doing?
Most of us will be planting lavender. A small group of early starters will be doing other logistical jobs.
How much will you pay us?
The team will be a mix of friends and family who are volunteering and paid folks. The paid folks will be paid $150 fixed fee for the day.
