It worked! The Red Pentagon Key opened the door--and just in time. Mom is rushing down the sidewalk, talking on her phone.
She sees you with the key ring in your hand. "Did you say you lost a key ring with three keys on it--one of them is red? Yes, I believe my children have found your keys."
She gives you a questioning look and you nod, mouthing, "In a drier!"
"Yes, in one of the driers," she tells the person on the phone. "Yes, we can wait until you get here to hand them back. Our laundry probably isn't done yet. See you soon."
When your mom hangs up the phone you grin and tell her, "Actually! The laundry is all done!"
Mom smiles, "Look at you, using your time wisely. I think this calls for ice cream!"
Your brother loads up all of the neatly folded clothes and you get your well deserved soda from the vending machine.
A few short minutes later, the manager of the laudromat pulls into the parking lot and jumps out of the car. "Oh! Thank goodness!" He says as he takes the keys from your mom. "I must have set them on one of my baskets of dirty laundry this morning."
Your mom hands over the keys and you and your family head for ice cream.
