Manage weak hives to ensure they are not robbed. Immediately remove 'dead' hives from apiary to prevent robbing. Destroy bees affected by AFB ASAP and make affected appliances 'bee-proof' until they can be destroyed or irradiated. (must be within 7 days) Eliminate AFB. Destroy or irradiate AFB affected hives and appliances in accordance with the Code of Practice Requirements. Never use antibiotics for the purposes of controlling AFB in hives.
