Throughout his life, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. advocated for peace, unity and service. He was committed to creating change in his community and so are the many volunteers here in Glendale. MLK Day of Service is an annual tribute to the life of Dr. King and also a way to donate vitamin-rich citrus to families in need. In partnership with HandsOn Greater Phoenix and St. Mary’s Food Bank Alliance, we are looking for over 200 volunteers to help glean fruit. It also helps beautify a Glendale landmark, keeping this community perfect for living, working and playing!
Citrus Collection! To increase our impact, our Martin Luther King, Jr. Day of Service will be a site for the community to drop off their excess citrus from their property and donate it to the St. Mary’s Food Bank Alliance. Please bring your freshly picked citrus (all varieties) to Sahuaro Ranch Park or Manistee Ranch Park on Saturday, January 18, 2025, between 9am and 12pm.
