The ACOFP Foundation proudly offers the Sander A. Kushner, DO, FACOFP Memorial Osteopathic Family Medicine Resident Award to recognize osteopathic residents who exemplify excellence in family medicine. This award honors the legacy of Dr. Sander A. Kushner, a respected educator and leader whose lifelong dedication to osteopathic family medicine continues to inspire the profession.
Dr. Kushner’s influence is evident through the physicians he mentored, his collaborations with colleagues, and his lasting impact on the communities he served. This award seeks to carry forward his commitment to the advancement of osteopathic family medicine.
Eligibility
Applicants must be osteopathic residents enrolled in either: AOA-accredited family medicine residencies, or ACGME-accredited family medicine residencies with osteopathic recognition.
Candidates should demonstrate strong academic achievement and a clear commitment to a career in osteopathic family medicine.
Application Requirements
Applicants must submit a personal statement (500–650 words) describing their career goals, vision, and dedication to the field, and how their path reflects Dr. Kushner’s legacy.
Award Presentation
The recipient will be formally recognized during the Congress of Delegates during the ACOFP Annual Convention & Scientific Seminars.
