• 2021 CONNECT Summer Staff Application/Leadership Development Program Application

    Must be 18 or older for summer long paid positions, if under 18 the application can still be filled out for a volunteer position.
  • The Summer Leadership Development program at CONNECT Christian Camp & Retreat Center is an immersive summer leadership program designed to prepare young leaders for our changing and growing demands in the church and workplace. By working on Summer Staff you will be serving behind the scenes, leading high schoolers in the leadership development program, creating time and space for campers to CONNECT with CHRIST, and supporting volunteers. Participants will be challenged to grow spiritually, mentally and physically during this summer long program.

  • Each summer leadership members will be trained to work in the various summer positions and expected to help cover different areas throughout the summer.  However, you may spend more time in a given area depending on your preference, giftedness or our needs at the time.  Please indicate in which area you feel most equipped to serve.

    *Lifeguards will attend camp sponsored training before the start of the summer, if not already certified.

  • Participants need to report Saturday, June 5, 2020; with some flexibility as needed.  Your end date is Saturday, August 14, 2020, or as agreed upon. Please indicate if you can start by June 5, 2020, or the date you can actually start.

  • Your resume should include:

    1) Past work experience

    2) Why you want to participate in our leadership development program at CONNECT.

    3) At least two ways you like to be rewarded for a job well done (words of praise, gift cards, getting to choose the staff outing, etc.)

  • All participants will be required to stay on property for the duration of the summer (including weekends) with a rotating schedule of 6 days on and 1 off.  Any time off from the program must be approved during the interview process (week of camp, wedding, family vacation, sports practice etc.). Your typical dayoff will always include staff required enrichment and/or devotions.

    I will not use or promote the use of illegal drugs, alcohol or tobacco products.

    I will avoid words, phrases and stories, which may compromise my Christian witness.

    I will be careful in touching or hugging campers or staff to avoid misunderstanding.

    I recognize that my Christian witness is needed at all times on and off duty.

    I will avoid situations, which may cause a fellow Christian to fall into temptation.

    Each person is valuable to God, therefore, I will treat them with dignity and respect.

    Praying for and supporting those in authority over me is my Christian responsibility.

    I accept responsibility to try to strengthen a co-worker struggling with temptation.

    I realize what I say, where I go, what I listen to, what I read, what movies and videos I watch, how I spend my time, how I treat others, and what I wear all have direct bearing on my Christian witness.

    I will follow and honor in-house policies for summer staff.

    I will participate in spiritual growth activities over the summer for summer staff.
