  • Séphora Berrebi Women in Advanced Mathematics & Computer Science Scholarships aim at encouraging active involvment of young women in scientific research, especially in the mathematics and computer science areas.

    These scholarships are awarded in complement of a main financing to young female researchers, enrolled as a PhD student or as a post-doctoral fellow. The applicants should be French, or Israeli, or of any nationality provided they are enrolled in a doctoral school, research laboratory or institute in France or in Israel.

      In this form, required information is marked with an asterisk.

      Wherever it is possible, you can fill in the form in French or in English. We recommend that all attached documents are in English.

       

      1. Personal Information section:

      Please indicate your name in accordance with the name on the attached ID.

       

      2. Education section:

      Please list the academic institutions you have attended during the last 4 years of education (starting with 2020-2021 in anti-chronolgical order in section 2) and specify the diplomas and grades obtained. You can attach the corresponding transcripts in the Attachments section. Only Bachelor and Master transcripts are mandatory.

       

      3. Research section:

      In the "Number of publications" box, please take into consideration both articles already published and articles already submitted for publication but not yet published.

       

      4. Motivation Letter section:

      Motivation statement is the opportunity for you to explain your motivation to apply and specify how you intend to use the scholar amount. It is important for us to better understand who you are and the reasons why you are applying.

      Please write it in no less than 150 words and more than 650 words. The essay may be based on the prompt in this section or uploaded in the Attachments section, as you prefer.

       

      5. Other information (optional) section:

      Once the four Séphora Berrebi Scholarship recipients are selected by the jury, their financial or medical situation may be analysed on an optional basis, this in order to eventually give her a supplementary amount.

      In this case, please specify it in this section and provide us with all the relevant supporting documentation (household income & expenses, medical documents etc.) in attachment.

       

      6. Attachments

      . CV: recent Curriculum Vitae is mandatory

      . Transcripts: Bachelor and Master transcripts are mandatory.

      . Commitment Letter: please download the Scholarship terms and conditions document beyond and print it. Write "I have read and agreed about the terms and conditions", sign it and upload the scanned document.

      . Research Summary: the jury members will give most attention to this description of your research project. It should be summarized in less than 4 pages. It should include your planning and methodology.

      . Abstract: this synthesis should be as pedagogical as possible. It will be used to communicate on your project to a large audience of non specialists. It should written in less than 400 words.

      . Motivation Letter: please explain your motivation to apply and specify how you intend to use the scholar amount. This letter should be written in less than 650 words. You can upload a file here or directly write your essay in section 4. 

      . Publications: you can either upload the publications and prepublications to be taken into account or provide us with the appropriate URL links. Only mentioned articles will be taken into consideration.

      . Letter(s) of Recommendation: only one letter is mandatory, no more than 4 letters will be accepted. Letter from the thesis supervisor is highly recommended. All Letters of Recommendation should be sent us directly by your referent(s). A specific form is provided for this purpose on our website. Please ask each referent who issues a letter to fill in this form and attach his/her letter. Your application is considered complete upon receipt of the anticipated Letter's) of Recommendation.

Of course your application is considered complete upon receipt of the anticipated Letter's) of Recommendation. We will inform you if we don't manage to get their letters.
