How does Driver Improvement work?
1. Complete the class using one of the 3 options above. The Zoom class is the easiest.
2. We electronically submit your completion to the MVA within 2 business days, often the same day, and will provide you with a paper copy as proof of completion
What happens if I do not complete by my due date?
If you do not complete the DIP by your DIP due date, your license likely will be suspended. The MVA may offer an extension if you are registered for a class. MVA Driver Improvement Office: 410-787-7817
I do not have my MVA referral letter, can I still attend the class?
Yes. All are welcome. If completing as a Maryland requirement please have your MVA referral letter or something that has your Maryland license number listed (your license, photo ID or registration) If you ever had a Maryland license, you had a Maryland license number and that number is needed for us to notify the Maryland MVA.
What if I missed my scheduled Zoom class that I already paid for?
Fill out this FORM and follow the directions.A $25 fee applies to re-schedule.
I need a duplicate copy of my completion?
If you need the copy for court, your completion appears on your driving record so it may be easier to get a copy of your driving record showing your completion. Please note that the MVA may be requiring you to repeat the program. Please call the MVA Driver Improvement Office: 410-787-7817
Does taking the DIP class remove points from my driving record?
No. In Maryland points will remain active on your driving record for 2 years from the date of each violation.
My license is suspended, when will my suspension be lifted?
It's up to the MVA to lift your suspension. MVA Driver Improvement: 410-787-7817
After we submit your completion, it typically takes 2 business days for it to appear on your driving record.
The online DIP is difficult to read?

Do other states accept this course?
In most cases, other states do accept completion of this course.
This is a Maryland MVA certified course.
This course is considered a "defensive driving" course.
The certificate you receive does NOT say how long the course was.
We cannot make promises who accepts what.
Can I take DIP without being “assigned” to it by the MVA?
Some students want to take DIP for their court hearing or lawyer.
You can take DIP before being "assigned" to it by the MVA.
However, you may not receive proper credit for the MVA initially.
After assigned to it, you will have to call the MVA and tell them you completed it proactively.
The MVA will be able to see your DIP completion date in their system.
