Camera Lending Library Equipment

MOPA has a total of two Camera Lending Libraries available for checkout. Educators may check out one set at a time.

1. A set of digital point & shoot cameras with SD memory cards (number included varies)

2. Camera chargers

3. A power strip to use with the camera chargers

4. An SD card reader (USB)

5. A Canon Selphy printer & accessories (paper tray & power cord)

6. Enough paper & ink for about 30 4x6” prints.

7. A Camera Lending Library binder with lesson ideas, equipment manuals & instructions, and equipment checklist

8. A damaged equipment envelope

All equipment listed in the equipment checklist in the Camera Lending Library binder must be returned to MOPA. The included paper and ink are yours to use and do not need to be returned or replaced. If you would like to purchase additional paper and ink for printing, you can find sets of Canon Selphy KP-108IN at the following locations.

Checkout

The Camera Lending Library is available to educators at no cost. Checkout periods are for one calendar week from Saturday to Saturday. Educators may checkout the equipment for up to 2 consecutive periods.

Reservations

Reservations will be accepted on a first come, first served basis and can be made for a maximum of 2 consecutive checkout periods. Each checkout period is one week, Saturday to Saturday.

One Camera Lending Library may be reserved per educator.

Reservations may be made up to 2 months in advance.
Reservation will be cancelled if not picked up on the reservation date unless other arrangements have been made prior to the checkout date.

Fees

Late returns cause inconvenience for other educators and MOPA staff. All late returns will be subject to a fine of $5 per day.

This fine must be paid before another reservation can be made. Accumulation of three or more fines will result in cancellation of checkout privileges.

Equipment Damage

The educator checking out the Camera Lending Library is responsible for all materials and equipment included. We understand that accidents happen and equipment wears over time and you will not be subject to charge for any average wear and tear of equipment. All damage must be noted in the damaged equipment folder provided. Any damage beyond average will be subject to a replacement cost determined by the Camera Lending Library coordinator and must be paid in full before another reservation can be made. Continued damage will result in cancellation of checkout privileges.

Total Fees

The total late and damage fees will be issued in the form of an invoice when the equipment has been returned, or each Friday that the equipment is still late. By signing the Camera Lending Library agreement you agree to pay any fees incurred.

Pick Up & Return

Pick up and return of the Camera Lending Library equipment will be at the front desk of MOPA on the Saturday prior and the Saturday following your reservation week. See Location & Hours above.

Best Practices

● Always store the Camera Lending Library equipment in a safe place.
● Before taking photos, teach students equipment safety (wear the wrist strap, walk, avoid touching the lens, insert the SD card carefully and the correct way, ask for help if you need it)
● After taking photos, charge the cameras and format the memory cards (instructions can be found in the Camera Lending Library binder included)
● Return the Camera Lending Library with all equipment it came with (a checklist can be found in the Camera Lending Library binder included)

Camera Lending Library Agreement

In signing this form I agree to adhere to all Camera Lending Library policies. I accept responsibility for all equipment entrusted to me through the Camera Lending Library. In addition, I accept responsibility for all participants using the equipment. This includes all damage fees and fines incurred.
