  • A parent or guardian of a junior participant (under 18 on 31st August 2020) should complete this form on their child’s behalf and explain the documentation to their child to ensure that junior entrants understand what is required. Please give your name and contact details above and enter the child's name in the Junior Player field below. Parents and guardians are reminded that they should take safeguarding responsibility for the operation of host platform accounts for their child, noting that juniors under the age of 16 must use a parental controlled account and that safe mode for children should be engaged.The SCCU's Privacy Policy sets out why we need your data and how we process it.

  • Fair Play obligations of all players

    All players  must agree that they will not during play: • receive help from any other person, player, or coach; • impersonate or use other people's accounts; • use chess engines, bots, plugins, analysis tools, tablebases, or other best move tools; • artificially inflate or deflate ratings by intentionally losing, or arranging with an opponent to win; • interference with other persons’ games; • reference physical opening books and static (i.e. non-engine based) tablebases.
  • All players must agree that during play they: • will maintain standards of conduct, sportsmanship and online behaviour. • will not engage in gamesmanship or distracting behaviour. • will comply with the ECF's safeguarding Code of Conduct for playing chess online.
