    This Application is made for a Building Permit as REQUIRED under the Building and Zoning Ordinances of the Village of Fairmont City, for the demolition, erection, moving, or alteration, and use of buildings and premises. In the making this application, the applicant represents all the following information is valid, and any uploaded maps and drawings, as a true description of the proposed new or altered uses and or buildings. The applicant agrees that the permit applied for if granted, is issued on the representations made here, and that any permit issued may be revoked without notice on any breach of representations or conditions.

  • Attach or draw below two copies of a site plan showing the following information: 

    Dimensions of Lot, building, driveways and off-street parking spaces. Distance between: Buildings and front, side and rear lot lines, 

    Principle building and accessory buildings, 

    Principle building and principal buildings on adjacent lots. Location of Signs, easements, underground utilities, septic tank if any, tile fields, water welis, etc. 

    Plans and Specifications 

    Site plans. A plat drawn to scale is attached, and shows the following 1) Actual shape and size of lot property 2) Location, ground area dimensions, and identification of use of all 

    Existing and proposed buildings, structures, driveways, parking 

    Areas, etc. 3) Dimensions of front, side and rear yards. 

    Construction plans. Plans prepared, and sealed by an Architect/Engineer, licensed of the State of Illinois, Are required for all public use buildings, including commercial, industrial, and institutional. 

    Specifications. For each building, structure, or use (existing and proposed) identified on the plat, give the following information if applicable:

  • 7. SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS, IF ANY

  • New Construction 

    Application for a permit shall be made by the owner or lessee of the building or structure, or agent of either or by the registered design professional employed in connection with the proposed work. 

    Property must have an assigned address from the 9-1-1 Coordinating office prior to a building permit being issued. The 9-1-1 Coordinating Office is located at 101 First St., Belleville, Illinois; phone number is 618-277-7316. It is understood that any Permit issued on this application will not grant any right on privilege structure or to use any premises described for any purpose or in any manner prohibited by the Building and Zoning ordinances, codes or regulations of the Village of Fairmont City. Temporary Erosion control measures must be implemented during construction and permanent measure must be maintained after completion. The applicant further agrees to notify the Enforcing Officer at the stages of Construction stated as follows:

    1. Prior to pouring footing
    2. Foundation prior to back fill
    3. Rough framing
    4. Rough in electrical
    5. Rough in plumbing 
    6. Rough in HVAC
    7. Final inspection before occupancy permit. The Enforcing Officer shall, upon completion of the construction, inspect the premises. If is further understood that if construction is not started within 6 Months of issuance of this permit and at least 1 inspection recorded, the permit becomes nuil and void.
