Water/Sewer Connection & Irrigation Meter Application

Connection to the existing public sewer main or existing/proposed manhole
Service lateral to the edge of public road right-of-way or limits of sewer easement

If there is no water or sewer lateral in place that connects your property to the main, you must hire a private, licensed utility contractor in the state of NC at your own expense the lateral(s), water meter box and/or sewer cleanout.
The water meter box must be purchased separately from the City, which no longer installs these connections.

The utility contractor must contact the Water Resources Department for the issuance and inspection permit prior to beginning the installation(s).

An inspection permit issued by the Water Resources Department is required for any additions or modifications to the water and sewer systems.
