CCAoA 2021 Application

Thank you for your interest in the Building Resilience in Uncertain Times project, sponsored by Child Care Aware of America! To be eligible for enrollment in this project, you need to work in a licensed child care facility with children in the age range of 2 ½ to 8 years in the service delivery area of Child Care Aware of Eastern Kansas. You will also need access to a device that you can use to check email correspondence and watch online videos – such as a computer or tablet. The course is self-paced, running from January to April, 2021. Participants enrolled in this program will receive:

30+ hours of self-paced online video instruction from Dr. Becky Bailey and her team on foundational concepts of social emotional learning as well as special tracks that focus on age-specific strategies. This equates to approximately one 10-hour segment of the course each month. Besides the video training, there are also digital resources and hands-on application activities. Each participant will be connected with a learning team of other participants and a coach from Child Care Aware of Eastern Kansas. There will be three online meetings with the team to share ideas, strategies and successes. Every participant that completes the full training will receive a total of 30 KDHE in-service hours. Since spaces are limited, we ask that before you submit your application, you agree to commit to taking the full training and participate in the three group meetings. You will also need to complete three sets of reflection questions throughout the training, and a final evaluation form about the learning experience. The information from class is designed to be shared with families, so we will also request that you share a survey link with families in your program for feedback on any new knowledge they gained as a result of your participation.
