What is a Parish Council?
The work of the parish pastoral council is to assist the Pastor by providing consultative advice. This consulting advice pertains to the pastoral concerns of the parish as determined by the Pastor. Parish councils were first recommended in Vatican II’s “Decree on the Pastoral Office of Bishops.” They exist in three fourths of the 18,000 Catholic parishes in the USA. Fr Hurley is seeking recommendations of parishioners that may be willing to serve on this parish council. If you are interested or know someone who would be a good fit for this important service, please complete the nomination form below.
