($2000 Scholarship is to be awarded to 1 candidate at each of the two High Schools in Sainte Genevieve, Missouri - 2 Total)
Qualifications to be eligible to apply for the Hoffman Foundation Scholarship are as follows. Candidate must:
1. be a Senior-Year Student who attends High School at either Ste. Genevieve High School or Valle Catholic High School.
2. be planning on attending a school of higher learning (college, junior college, trade school, etc...).
The Ste. Genevieve Conference of the St. Vincent de Paul Society (hereafter referred to as just Conference) reserves the right to award Scholarships to students who have met the above criteria.
Evaluation Criteria: the applicants applying for the scholarship will be evaluated in four categories.
Each category will be given a score from 0 to 100. Each score will hold the same weight (25%) for the overall applicant’s final score:
(AP) Academic Performance
(Grades, College Prep scores, etc…)
(FN) Financial Need
(# in household, household income, etc…)
(SOP) School Organizations Participation
(sports, arts, clubs, activities, etc…)
(CI) Community Involvement
(service points, charities, church, etc…)
i.e. Scores from each of the 4 categories will be added together to make the applicant’s final score.
Example: 98 in AP, 92 in FN, 68 in SOP and 80 in CI, would add up to 338 points for that applicant.
The Conference Scholarship Committee’s decision will be final.
While the Conference awards 1 scholarship per calendar year, per High School, if there are no applicants who meet the above qualifications, no scholarship will be given.
