Guidance for Applicants
Open Lab is a brand new programme from BasildON Creative People and Places that supports innovative and creative, community engagement projects in Basildon Town Centre. Whether you are a born and bred Basildonian, or from further afield, we invite you to join us in hosting your own a six week pop-up cultural project in the heart of the town centre.
Successful applicants will be provided with a vacant unit (ranging from 700sqft - 10,000+ sqft) in Basildon town centre. Please be aware that there will be 6 successful applicants chosen. They will be provided with a budget to turn their idea into an all singing, all dancing, pop-up of dreams:
1 x project up to £10,000
2 x projects up to £7,000
3 x projects up to £5,000
Making your Application:
We want to hear all your ideas from as wide a range of people and organisations as possible, especially those who would not normally apply for an arts commission.
Community Engagement! A vital part of the Open Lab project is engagement with the local community and to encourage people who aren’t currently taking part in cultural activities to participate. Therefore, we ask the applicants to really consider how this will sit at the heart of your project.
Here to help! If you are new to the application process, or simply would like some help and guidance, we’re here to support you! Please contact us at: CPP@creativebasildon.co.uk
The closing date for applications is 29th January 2021.
