Leadership Burleson Application

Leadership Burleson — a dynamic program by the Burleson Area Chamber of Commerce — is designed to empower professionals with a passion for community and leadership excellence. Since its launch in 2015 and the inaugural class of 2016, this program has been a catalyst for personal and professional growth.

Over an engaging 11-month period, you'll attend monthly full-day sessions that connect you with key local figures in politics, business, and civic areas. These sessions are more than meetings — they're opportunities to spark change, network, and deepen your connection with the Burleson community. Classes are the third Wednesday each month, typically from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., and includes lunch.

To ensure the quality of the Leadership Burleson experience, only one class is offered per year and class size is limited. The first 8 applicants will get one ticket to ProjectU on Feb. 18, 2025, a full-day leadership conference.

Candidates for the program must meet the following criteria:

Serve in a leadership capacity in organizations related to their profession, academic institutions, or other young professionals’ organizations.
Are committed to personal growth and career advancement while serving the Burleson community.
Have been active in volunteerism and want to strengthen leadership practices to enhance their potential.
Are considered by peers or employers as emerging leaders in business, government, non-profit, service sectors or as an entrepreneur.
Aspire to become actively engaged in Burleson through decision making roles on community boards, city commissions and non-profit volunteerism roles.
Possess high standards of personal quality and integrity.
In order to be eligible for a certificate of completion, Leadership Burleson will require participants to attend ALL MEETINGS and ALL OUTINGS. We understand unexpected events happen, if you must miss a session, you can make it up by volunteering at one of our chamber events.
Supervisor/Employer will be notified of absences and make up arrangements. They will also be invited to the Certificate of Completion Ceremony at the end of the year.
By submitting this application, participants agree they can and will commit the time required for the program. If employed, the participant has the full endorsement of their employer to commit the time required as a participant in the program.

The 2025 Program Fee is $800 and is due upon acceptance into the program. This fee covers expenses for all Leadership Burleson meetings and outings.
