HISTORIC DOWNTOWN MANASSAS BANNER ART COMPETITION
CALL FOR ENTRIES 16 YEARS or OLDER

Open to all Artists in MD, VA or DC.
The City of Manassas hangs banners on all the light poles in the historic downtown section. This year the banners will be directly from the work of artists. Each one different and unique.
The winning 70+ pieces of art work will be printed on individual street banners and on display in Historic Downtown Manassas, starting in the spring through to fall. Along with this, a walking brochure will be produced with a photo of each image, title, artist name and short paragraph description.
Art work will be judged and winners selected, but cash prizes will be awarded to the top three juried pieces.
Eligibility and Media:
All art must be 2 dimensional media, no photography.
Final reproduction size will be approximately 24”x 48” with a 5” color bleed on the top and bottom. Artwork and images should be vertical in orientation.
Please make sure your artwork and images fit these proportions:
REFERENCE SIZES: Maximum size 24”x42”, minimum size 24”x36”.
*Sizes reference proportions only actual artwork may be varying in size
Please submit JPEG files, Tiff, AI or EPS files only. Files can be uploaded to online form, emailed or placed on a thumb drive and mailed or delivered to the Historic Manassas, Inc. office. Image size should be a minimum of 1MB and no larger than 3MB

Entries must be submitted online. The entry fee is $50 for up to three images and may be paid using VISA, MasterCard, Discover, or American Express, or check made payable to Historic Manassas, Inc.
Entry fees are non-refundable. See instructions below.
The entry deadline is Friday, January 11, 2022.
The entry form is available online at www.visitmanassas.org. On the home screen you will find the “Banner Art Project” slider, click on the “call for Artist” in the top right corner. The entry form will be linked to this page. Payment can be handled online on this page.
Label each file with your name, title of the piece, medium, and size (jane_doe_flowers in bloom_ oil_24x40).
Send only one image per work and all files should be approximately 1MB in size and cannot exceed 3MB for emailing purposes.
To be considered, online entries and artwork submitted must be dated and time stamped no later than 11:59pm EDT January 11, 2022.
Recognition and Awards:
Recognition will be given to first place, second place and third place as determined by the Selection Committee, in the following amounts. Historic Manassas, Inc. will contact artists once the jury has completed its work the week of February 7, 2022
First Place as determined by the Selection Committee: $300
Second Place as determined by the Selection Committee: $200
Third Place as determined by the Selection Committee: $100
