Children of all ages can experience the love of God found in Christ. Our comprehensive ministry focuses on the needs and growth of children at each development level. Our programs are designed to teach your child the truth about God in fun and engaging ways that will help them discover Jesus and reflect God’s character to the world around them. We are dedicated to taking great care of your children and ensuring they experience God’s love at St. Andrew.
In Sunday School, mid-week small groups, and dozens of special events throughout the year, students gather together to make friends, have fun, and learn God’s principles for making wise decisions in their lives and relationships. At St. Andrew, our student ministry is all about providing a strong foundation for students to see themselves and others through the lenses of the gospel of Christ.
As a mentorship program through Richardson Senior High School, we share with these students life skills and values which will become an integral part of their lives. We mentor and provide advice on scholarship programs to underprivileged students who exhibit high motivation, scholastic ability and performance. We also expect these students to enroll in a post-high school educational program (college, community college or junior college) and become outstanding examples to their peers and others in their communities.
Help the Messenger of Hope Scholarship Fund provide a kick-start for further education to underserved high school students in our local communities. Established in 2001, Messenger of Hope has raised more than $820,000 in scholarship funds, awarded to over 450 area high school students. Many bright, hardworking students who dream of a post-secondary education get caught up in personal challenges that inhibit their ability to find funding. The MOH Scholarship helps fill this gap to allow the students to begin pursuing their dreams. Students have attended vocational schools, small colleges, community colleges, and major universities. Prom Closet, sponsored by St. Andrew United Methodist Women, provides a shopping experience for any girl who would otherwise not be able to attend her prom. We have been able to outfit each girl with the “total look” for 12 years! This includes dress, shoes, handbag, evening wrap, and jewelry at no cost as all items are donated. Thisyear, over 1,273 shoppers from 247 schools were greeted by over 400 volunteers!
The mission of The Storehouse of Collin County is to feed, clothe and care as neighbors in one community. The Storehouse offers three vital programs:
Seven Loaves Food Pantry serves over 1,300 families per month. Canned goods, fresh fruit and produce, meat and dairy products are provided to eligible individuals and families as a supplement to their monthly needs.
Joseph’s Coat distributes new or gently used clothing for families at no cost. This program provides an opportunity for our clients whom we call neighbors, to receive clothing for job interviews, school, and special events.
Project Hope provides a grace-filled program of mentorship, training, education, and hope to women who are in the negative cycles of poverty and dependence.
Working through local governments and agencies, and at the invitation of the local community in need, 4 Corners is helping local communities build and sustain primary care clinics in locations which have inadequate or no access to basic medical services. 4 Corners Global Outreach operates Clínica Emanuel in the remote village of Jabuy, Costa Rica, providing medical care to the Cabécar people.
Founded fall 2019, the Arts Foundation of St. Andrew is dedicated to the mission of “enriching spirituality through the power of the arts.” Consisting of five wings, the Arts Foundation supports Arts Education, honoring the importance of education to cultivate appreciation; Performing Arts, honoring the power of music to speak to us in ways words fail; Visual Arts, honoring the depth of meaning found in imagery; Language Arts, honoring the impact of the written word as its own artistic craft; and Community Arts, honoring our specific commitment as Methodists to engage those beyond the walls of St. Andrew. Be sure to check our website for more information on our offerings: standrewumc.org/arts.
