• Rivers of the World: Open Call

    Closing date: Monday 7 December

    Artist fee: £1500

Artist Open Call for Rivers of the World: a free creative project for Key Stage Three pupils

Rivers of the World is a free arts-based learning project linking schools around the world through the study of rivers.

We are looking to recruit 2 artists who will connect with Rivers of the World artists in Ghana, Mozambique and Nepal. You will work with Liverpool pupils in Years 8 and 9 to create collaborative artworks exploring the meaning of rivers in local and international contexts, taking inspiration from the River Mersey. The finished artworks will be exhibited in Liverpool, on London’s South Bank, as part of the Totally Thames Festival and in each participating country. We aim to encourage the international exchange of creative ideas and environmental learning, led by artists and young people.

Following the project briefing meeting in March 2021 to meet with staff from participating schools, you will need to work with 3 Liverpool schools, delivering creative workshops (usually a full day and a half day in each school arranged between March and July 2021) to create collaborative artworks with young people.

Please make sure your project proposal shows flexibility to be adapted digitally if school visits are not possible due to Covid-19 between March and July 2021

    Project themes:

    • River of life: the river’s ecosystem
    • Polluted river: the problem of pollution
    • Resourceful river: the value and power of water
    • Working river: the river economy
    • River city: river architecture and living
    • River culture: tourism, recreation and spiritual

Rivers of the World is in its 15th year and is delivered in partnership with Thames Festival Trust and The British Council. For more information about the project, visit: www.riversoftheworld.org

  • EQUAL OPPORTUNITIES QUESTIONS

This final section is about you.  It’s a little more personal, but is really useful to us.

We take our responsibility to offer equal opportunities seriously. We aim to ensure that no person receives less favourable treatment because of age, disability, gender reassignment, race, religion or belief, sex or sexual orientation.

The following questions have been designed to align with the way the UK Government collects Census data.  This enables us to compare who our programmes and opportunities are reaching, to the general population. By answering these questions you will help us to see the extent to which our artists, auridenes and workforce reflects everyone in our communities.

If there are any questions that you’d rather not answer, please select Prefer Not to Say.

We will only publish anonymised data. For the purposes of compliance with the Data Protection Act 2018, by completing this form, you give consent to Metal processing the data supplied on this form for the purposes of equal opportunities monitoring.

    Many thanks.
