Artist Open Call for Rivers of the World: a free creative project for Key Stage Three pupils
Rivers of the World is a free arts-based learning project linking schools around the world through the study of rivers.
We are looking to recruit 2 artists who will connect with Rivers of the World artists in Ghana, Mozambique and Nepal. You will work with Liverpool pupils in Years 8 and 9 to create collaborative artworks exploring the meaning of rivers in local and international contexts, taking inspiration from the River Mersey. The finished artworks will be exhibited in Liverpool, on London’s South Bank, as part of the Totally Thames Festival and in each participating country. We aim to encourage the international exchange of creative ideas and environmental learning, led by artists and young people.
Following the project briefing meeting in March 2021 to meet with staff from participating schools, you will need to work with 3 Liverpool schools, delivering creative workshops (usually a full day and a half day in each school arranged between March and July 2021) to create collaborative artworks with young people.
Please make sure your project proposal shows flexibility to be adapted digitally if school visits are not possible due to Covid-19 between March and July 2021
