• CGLC 2021 Award Application

  • Thank you for taking the time to submit an award application for the 8th Annual Virtual Cultural Greek Leadership Conference! The theme of this year's conference is "WE'RE SPEAKING: Amplifying the voices of CBFOs"

    Due to COVID-19, CGLC is is taking place virtually this year and will use a combination of synchronous and asynchronous sessions to provide an engaging experience to all attendees.

    There are seven (7) unique and dynamic awards available to celebrate organizations who have done important and mission-focused work from August 2020 - March 2021.

    INSTRUCTIONS:
    As you fill out this form, please only fill out the award sections to which you're applying, the rest can remain blank. You may fill out multiple awards at once or do separate submissions. Each award has different criteria. Most ask for reflections, proof of event, and in some cases, a recommendation from an advisor. You may exit out and return back to the form if you are missing some of these items. We will not consider award submissions that are incomplete.

    DEADLINE:
    The awards application is currently open and closes Friday, March 12th, 2021, by 5:00pm EST.

    AWARD CEREMONY:
    Award winners will be announced via Zoom on Wednesday, March 31st, 2021 at 6:30pm EST before the Undergraduate Social. Please join us to celebrate all of the organizations and individuals who won! Award winners will be sent their award virtually via email for winners to print or post online.

  • Chapter of the Year

    Chapter of the Year award recognizes a chapter who has gone above and beyond normal chapter operations in the 2020-2021 year.

    This award MUST include a recommendation from an area advisor, alumni advisor, or fraternity/sorority advisor. Letter must be 500 words or less.

    Award Criteria:


    Must include a reference, as specified, who can attest to these qualities

    Addresses or incorporates at least 2 of the goals of CGLC:

    • Learn how to work with campus administration and inter/national organization leadership to address current issues
    • Build community with other students from NALFO/NAPA/NMGC/NPHC organizations
    • Assess issues of inequity and exclusion in the fraternity/sorority system and develop goals to create more inclusive environments
    • Find relevance in current campus environments and learn new marketing strategies to enhance the recruitment of new members

    The Excellence in Student Leadership award recognizes an individual student leader who has displayed student leadership to the highest degree in the 2020-2021 year.

    This award MUST include a recommendation from an area advisor, alumni advisor, or fraternity/sorority advisor. Letter must be 500 words or less.

    Award Criteria:

    • Shows adaptation, improvement, and/or success in their role or position in their organization
    • Must include a reference, as specified, who can attest to these qualities

    Fraternity/Sorority Advisor of the Year award recognizes a fraternity or sorority advisor that has gone above and beyond normal advisor expectations in the 2020-2021 year.

    This award MUST be nominated by a student or colleague.

    Award Criteria:

    • Must be nominated by a student or colleague
    • Must have shown a positive and impactful presence on the nominator and chapter

    Alumni Advisor of the Year recognizes an alumni advisor that has gone above and beyond normal advisor expectations in the 2020-2021 year.

    This award MUST be nominated by a student or colleague.

    Award Criteria:

    • Must be nominated by a student or colleague
    • Must be an alumni of the chapter or organization
    • Must have shown a positive and impactful presence on the nominator and the chapter

  • Educational Program of the Year

    Educational Program of the Year award recognizes an educational program of the 2020-2021 year that left a significant and positive impact on the community.

    Award Criteria:

    • Must have been educational in nature
    • Must be unique or creative to an extent
    • Must have been open to the public
    • Must provide at least 2 forms of evidence of the program (i.e. pictures, videos, flyers, PowerPoint Slides, etc.)
    • Has occurred prior to CGLC
      Addresses or incorporates at least 2 of the goals of CGLC:
      • Learn how to work with campus administration and inter/national organization leadership to address current issues
      • Build community with other students from NALFO/NAPA/NMGC/NPHC organizations
      • Assess issues of inequity and exclusion in the fraternity/sorority system and develop goals to create more inclusive environments
      • Find relevance in current campus environments and learn new marketing strategies to enhance the recruitment of new members

    Event of the Year award recognizes an event of the 2020-2021 year that left a significant and positive impact on the community.

    Award Criteria:

    • Must have social and philanthropic aspects
    • Must have been open to the public
    • Must provide at least 2 forms of evidence of the program (i.e. pictures, videos, flyers, PowerPoint Slides, etc.)
    • Has occurred prior to CGLC
    • Addresses or incoporates at least 2 of the goals of CGLC:
      • Learn how to work with campus administration and inter/national organization leadership to address current issues
      • Build community with other students from NALFO/NAPA/NMGC/NPHC organizations

  • Inclusion Initiative of the Year

    Inclusion Initiative of the Year recognizes an ongoing initiative of the 2020-2021 year that tackled one or more areas of inclusion. Areas of inclusion include, but are not limited to, race, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, religion, ability, age, access, or overall inclusion in general.

    Award Criteria:

    • Must have been educational in nature
    • Must have included components of discussion and/or reflection
    • Must have made inclusion as the main focus in more than one event or program for the 2020-2021 academic year
    • Must provide at least 2 forms of evidence of the program (i.e. pictures, videos, flyers, PowerPoint Slides, etc.)
    • Has occurred prior to CGLC
    • Address or incorporates at least 2 of the goals of CGLC:
      • Learn how to work with campus administration and inter/national organization leadership to address current issues
      • Build community with other students from NALFO/NAPA/NMGC/NPHC organizations
      • Assess issues of inequity and exclusion in the fraternity/sorority system and develop goals to create more inclusive environments
