IMPORTANT UPDATE -
PLANNING A VISIT TO THE MUSEUM
Our beautiful Visitor Hall is now open! Our most iconic attractions and visitor favorites—including Balto, Dunk, Happy, Lucy, and the Moon Rock—are featured here, a dramatic setting that serves as the heart of a reimagined natural history museum unlike any other.
We are continuing to construct an amazing transformation at the Museum, necessitating the closure of some exhibit spaces. The following areas or exhibits are closed:
- Shafran Planetarium
- The Kirtland Hall of Prehistoric Life, including permanent mounts of dinosaurs Tyrannosaurus rex and Edmontosaurus
- The Human Origins Gallery
- The Reinberger Hall of Earth & Planetary Exploration
- Jeptha Homer Wade II Gallery of Gems & Jewels
Due to this, we recommend school group visits are shorter than 1.5 hours including lunch time, not including the time it takes for a scheduled program.
We apologize for any inconvenience - these growing pains will be worth what is coming next!
