• Coaching & Trauma Therapy Contract

  • In the initial session we explore the challenges you face and how I can best support you. I draw on a range of approaches include coaching interventions, emotionally focused couples therapy and trauma therapy (based on the NeuroAffective Relational Model - NARM).

Relationship Coaching: draws on emotionally focused therapeutic interventions, tried and tested behavioural strategies, mindset shifts, re-framing,  and my own personal experience of transforming negative dynamics in my own marriage.

Trauma Therapy (based on the NARM model): draws on a range of therapeutic tools including resonance and attuning skills, tracking, titration, grounding, nervous system regulation, psych-education, compassion, somatic mindfulness and somatic experiencing.

My aim is always to support you on a journey towards greater clarity, emotional growth and heart-based connection to self and to others.

I recommend a minimum of four sessions for the initial phase. We then re-assess and renew depending on the perceived need. I offer packages of 4 and 8 sessions.

Confidentiality: The contents of my sessions remain totally confidential in that I will not disclose the information to any third party without your prior consent. If you choose to disclose the information that is your right to do so. The only exception to this agreement is if I believe you are in danger to yourself and/or endangering another. In which case, I am required by law to contact the relevant authorities.

Relationship Coaching Disclaimer: My approach to relationship coaching is  practical, therapeutic, emotionally focused, insightful, instinctive and solution-oriented. My skill set and experience best serves those experiencing marital/relationship distress who are not also dealing with serious psychological disorders including but not limited to Borderline Personality Disorder, Bipolar disorder, severe autism, altered states or any other strong psychological state. It is also not suited to those who are engaged in regular substance abuse and who, if this emerged as a stumbling block to the work, would not be willing to explore this and potentially seek support.

Trauma Therapy Disclaimer: NARM (The NeuroAffective Relational Model) is a profoundly effective yet gently empowering approach to healing and integrating the impact of complex trauma. As a NARM practitioner my skills and clinical experience best serves those who are impacted by developmental trauma which may result in a range of experiences including but not limited to depression, anxiety, chronic fatigue, panic attacks, obsessive compulsive disorders, C-PTSD, grief, lack of clarity and disconnection to life but currently excludes psychological disorders such as Borderline Personality Disorder, Bipolar Disorder, active and strong suicidal tendencies, severe substance abuse and/or strongly altered psychological states.

If you have been diagnosed with or suspect that you may have one or more of the above conditions, there is no judgement whatsoever, it is simply that you may be better supported by another professional with more expertise in these areas. For me to assess if this is the case, please email me: maya@mayavaughan.com

Cancellations: Please give minimum of 48 hrs notice of a cancellation, otherwise  the full fee applies whether in person or online.
