HHCI is a comprehensive mental health resource for the Greater Houston community and beyond. At the Hope and Healing Center & Institute (HHCI) we are reimagining mental health care. Our mission is aimed at transforming lives and restoring hope to individuals and families.
HHCI offers a variety of uniquely structured strength and skills-based services to adults with chronic mental health difficulties. Many of our services offer information and discussions about faith in the context of mental health care.
Wherever a person is on their faith journey, we walk with them to help find and establish a faith community that suits their spiritual and emotional needs.
Our services are available to persons over the age of 18 who are experiencing symptoms of serious, chronic mental illness. Services are offered to the community at no charge.
HHCI Intern Requirements:
- Pass a drug test
- Pass a background check
- Attend a short training (Safeguarding God's Children)
- Be available to be on site at HHCI on Thursdays
- Work 19 hours each week - students are compensated for their time.
Thursdays students are required to be on site as we have clinical staffing, our agency staff meeting and supervision.
We do not offer night/evening hours. One night is an option if students would like to facilitate group, but not required. Otherwise, students will see clients during daytime hours.
COVID 19 Amendments:
HHCI is still accepting interns for the Fall 2021/Spring 2022 placement season. Currently, our team works in the office seeing clients virtually. HHCI is not accepting remote interns, and student will be required on campus for the entire 19 hours of their weekly internship.
HHCI has safety procedures and guidelines in place for staff and new hires.
A transition plan is in place for when HHCI clients return to the office (date still TBD).
